"Teresa is very thorough at her job. She did an excellent job cleaning my house. She is a bit expensive, but I wanted the job done well and she delivered. She was a little late the first day because her bus driver did not show up and caused her to wait for a new driver and she brought her service dog with her as well. The dog was sweet and well behaved. Teresa does a very deep clean so I was willing to be flexible. For instance, she will scrub things like baseboards and window sills until they are clean. She knows how to use elbow grease! Overall, I was very satisfied with the level of cleaning Teresa did. I did go behind her and see a few spots she missed (a baseboard in the hall, some pictures that needed dusting) when cleaning my large 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bathroom home. I pointed these out and she very willingly did the touch ups. She asked me several times if I was happy with her work and gave me the opportunity to let her know if I wanted anything else done. She aims to please! I would hire Teresa again for a deep cleaning."

"The Alta Gama ladies were at my house for 8 hours and did an excellent job! They were able to thoroughly clean my large glass shower doors which is difficult due to years of buildup from our well water. They also cleaned every surface that I asked them to clean. My house looks great! I definitely would hire them again."

House Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Usually 1-2 hours, depending on gutter length and condition.

Flooded basement cleanup can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks, depending on the extent of water damage, the type of water involved, and the need for repairs or mold remediation. Severe cases with structural damage or extensive mold may require longer timelines. Quick action and professional help can speed up the process and reduce overall damage.

You should wash your sheets at least once every two weeks and as often as once every week to keep your sleeping environment healthy. If it’s hot out, or if you have a job where you might deposit dust onto your sheets from your work environment, you should wash your sheets more frequently.

While a biohazard cleanup sounds like a scary process, knowing what to expect can help ease your concerns and set you up for success. It’s good to note that more than one professional might be needed depending on your situation, but that will be determined during the assessment. What you can expect during a home biohazard cleanup is the following:

  • Assessment: The first step in this process is for a biohazard cleanup professional to assess the damage. They create a report that includes the biohazard safety level, the needed damage cleanup, and the time it should take to complete the project.

  • Setup: The cleanup professional prepares the site to prevent cross-contamination and reduce toxicity risk. This process can include tarping and creating decontamination zones.

  • Removal of surface contamination: Any contaminated materials are removed from the area, starting with large materials followed by small ones. The professional can assess any floor-related damage once everything is removed from the site.

  • Salvaging items: The biohazard cleanup professionals assess which items can be saved and which are contaminated beyond the point of saving. Those deemed unsafe will be disposed of immediately.

  • Waste disposal: The next step is carefully disposing of the hazardous waste. Your professional will place the contaminated items in specific containers to keep the contamination from spreading.

  • Disinfection: The house will be disinfected and odor-neutralized. Even more minor details, like light switches and bulbs, will be disinfected so that they do not recontaminate the area in the future.

  • Restoration: Once the decontamination is complete, the last step is to restore the home. This includes repairing the damage to flooring, walls, or even the home's foundation.

There are several ways to store clothes properly and keep them smelling good. You can keep clothing in a climate-controlled closet for best results, but if this isn’t in your budget, there are many DIY solutions. From using air freshener sprays to keeping a box of baking soda in the closet, you can eliminate unwanted odors. Always store clean, dry clothes in the closet to minimize odors.
