"Had a sprinkler system installed on about 1/3 of an acre in the spring of 2022 with a 3 year guarantee. They were prompt about coming out, giving an estimate and taking a payment. Poor communication following the install regarding operation. Problems with water reaching all areas of the grass were downplayed. After repeatedly not answering texts or phone messages I was berated by Mr. Hawk for being "Mr. Difficult". I ended up buying and changing 3 sprinkler heads so that water would reach everywhere and eliminate brown spots. Terrible customer service !"

After my spouse and I fell ill over the summer, we had to let the yard go, and it took us a long time to recover so we never had enough energy to catch up. By the time we called Robert, we felt embarrassed of our yard and anxious to get it resolved. Despite my eventual supplying excellent hinges (& they never credited $$ back to me, for hinges they took back-- & am terribly confused about how they installed what I purchased, without even thinking how to secure, & without regard my expense, the furthest out screw is between boards & while I offered the bolts, pure wisdom says, at least, use some washers!! And the gate should've been trimmed at the top on one side -- so many others have commented "shabby work". & all say the gate should be redone & done right. They never did backfill the fence posts...I agree with another review...they say they know how to do the privacy fence right, then they fail to do so, or answer emails. They begin tasks well, then slow down to wks & now months passing. While I corrected a prior low rating, when they sent someone to correct...I now have to revert back!!!"

If you are an avid DIYer and have plenty of time to dedicate to your yard, doing your own landscaping (or at least some of it) can be an affordable option. Projects like planting a tree, planting grass, laying sod, or building a firepit can realistically be done without the need for a landscaping professional. However, these projects can take considerable time and some landscaping knowledge, so having a pro might save you in the long run.
Projects that are dangerous, like digging with heavy machinery or removing a tree, should always be done by a professional.
