  Michael and Son's water mitigation team came out the same day, and had dehumidifiers and air movers placed by the following afternoon. Oscar was supervising the team, and he was great in not only explaining what he was doing and why, but walking me through the insurance process as well. As far as the end results are concerned, there is a hole in our ceiling and about a third of the bathroom tile has been pulled up, as well as one level of flooring that was beneath it. We're currently waiting on a restoration team to come out and repair things, but this won't be through Michael and Son. (It was my understanding that they didn't do the kind of work we needed done.

  Fantastic! Richard and his crew worked tirelessly to create my one of a kind dream kitchen island that had never been done before. They brought to fruition an idea that I had and made it a reality. I wanted reclaimed wood and a complete rustic feel to fit into my log cabin home. I even had an unexpected water leak during a storm that was reparied the next day and prevented my house from further damage. I have a beautiful custom bookshelf built into the wall, he fixed my leaking skylights instead of replacing them and saved me money! I have a new garbage disposal, cleaned my gutters, repaired my decking, new storm doors and and sink fixtures. Everything I needed to make my newly purchased home liveable

  Very smooth process from start to finish. Received call from A-1 in response to Anji request regarding slow laundry drain. Gave an estimate over the phone. Booked the appt for next day. Bert the plumber called to say she was on the way. (Yes, Bert is a woman, no judgement please). Told her the problem and showed her the clean out port. 15 mins later, pipe was snaked and cleaned out. She even stayed to watch washing machine fill and drain on highest water setting. Went above and beyond to ensure other drains worked ok too. Recommended monthly bioenzyme cleaner. Simple credit card transaction to finish. About 30 mins total. Price was a little higher than hoped, but service was definitely A-1

  We called Bertolino to handle our electrical problem because we had good success with them in the past. Their electrician Tom is top-notch -- competent, professional, and personable. Unfortunately, it was already 6 p.m., and he was booked. Plus, he had to be in a class at 8. We tried Michael and Son, since we had seen their advertisements, they were a large company, their grade on Angie's List was good, and they advertise 24-hour service. Their charge for coming out that night, though, was outrageous (see our review of Michael and Son), so we called Tom directly. We managed to get him on the phone just before he went to his class, and he said he would squeeze us in the next morning. He showed up promptly as promised, quickly determined that the problem was in the Virginia Power line, rather than in our house (which saved us $1500!), disconnected our shorted appliance, and handled the arrangements with the power company. Bravo to Tom and Bertolino! The $100 charge was $179 less than what Michael and Son would have charged us just for showing up. <br /

  Fantastic company to deal with! Recieved a call less than hour after going thru Angie's List. Very professional and timely. Team leader Adam was extremely responsive to our questions, taking the time to explain all our options. His team of Brice and T.J. arrived on time and efficiently went to work. Their recommendations led us to a proper and more efficient solution. The workmanship was impeccable. The two technicians worked seamlessly together and by the end of the day we had a new water line in place and leak free.   Amazing! When my old water heater ruptured and needed to be replaced they were out in 30min and were very respectful and knowledgeable. They cleaned up after themselves and checked up the next day to make sure everything was working correctly. I also had an issue with my kitchen sink backing up a couple weeks later and he was out same day and once the drain was cleaned out the issue was fixed. Would highly recommend

  Roto-Rooter was the only plumbing company I have ever had to call. The technician responded that same day. He was very professional, and got right to work, explaining what he was doing as he went. It made quite a mess when he used the auger to clear the blockage, much more than a "normal" clog would, because the line was plugged with instant mashed potatoes (Now I know not to do that again). In the end he had to come back with a special tool to clean out the drain, but it worked and the sink is as good as new now. The "B" for quality was because it made a horrible mess when he used the drain auger on the line. He cleaned most of it up, but left more than I should have expected for me to clean after he had gone. Also, the price was at the high end of what the price guide said to expect, even after he gave me a discount for having to leave and come back the next day
