  • Greenwell Plumbing
They replaced the main sewer line to the house from the septic tank and installed a riser so they could locate the main cover to the septic tank. They are very good and very fair priced.

  • Duncan Septic Service
Danny was excellent to deal with and his business approach second to none. Very fair pricing, he did everything he said he would do when he said he would do it. He's very knowledgeable about his business and he gives advise to eliminate potential problems down the road. If you ever have issues from a septic tank standpoint he is the man for the job
    Thomas H.
Performed a septic inspection and pumped out the tank on a house we were buying. They were on time and professional. They explained their findings to me and emailed a report the next day. I would definitely hire them again.

  • Gage Home Inspections
Mr. Gage was prompt, thorough, and patient when we had questions...we don't know a lot about houses so our questions were not the smartest but Mr. Gage was kind no matter how silly the inquiry and made sure we understood what was needed. He offered to answer any questions we had after the inspection and has done so willingly through email. I highly recommend Gage Home Inspections and will definitely use again

  • Zaring Septic & Drain Service, Inc.
We sold that house and the people who bought it had a septic evaluation. They wanted about $6000 to do some modifications to the septic system. They wanted us to pay for it. We paid Zaring to come out and review everything that they had quoted and have them re quote it. We paid them to do it and it was a very good experience. They quoted $2400 versus $5900 for the same work. We are closing next week and we are giving them the allotment so that they can have the work done. They just came out and quoted what it would cost to get done. We did pay them to come out, they charge a service trip. He came out that day and gave a quote that day. I was very happy. I would use them again. I have used them before

They did a great job. This was a difficult job because my family had lived in this house for 53 years. We knew there was a septic tank, but never knew that we needed to do anything to maintain it. We didn't even know where it was. They worked hard to locate it, but we needed to call in the Thompson's to use the camera to find it. Once found, the Bogard's dug for the opening and found the concrete tank intact and still in working order, albeit very very full! They pumped it out, cleaned it out with a hose, covered it back up, and filled in the dirt. 53 years. Amazing! We are so relieved to find it in working order. I would certainly recommend them

  • Duncan Septic Service
I called requesting about a leak seeping in a new asphalt driveway. Fearing that a leach line or a drain field line had collapsed when the driveway was being installed we were prepared to have our new driveway torn up. Danny and his charming assistant responded and two hours later and put my mind at ease. They assured me that the septic tank was full and the drain field line had backed up. A simple $250.00 pumping left our new driveway intact. Very professional, personal ant thorough

  • Zaring Septic & Drain Service, Inc.
From the first interaction I knew I made the right choice. The person who answered the phone was knowledgable about their processes and able to help determine exactly what services needed to be performed and approximately how much it would cost. When the technician arrived (right on time - they even called to let me know he was on the way) he had all the information I gave to the person on the phone so I didn't now have to start over telling him what I was concerned about. Everone I dealt with was courteous and professional

  • Zaring Septic & Drain Service, Inc.
We purchased an older home which needed a new septic system. David and his staff installed the new system in a timely and professional manner. Due to the historically high rainfall and flooding in the Lousiville area this spring, there were complications that our plumber tried to blame on the new septic system. David and his crew came out immediately to trouble shoot the situation. Long story short, the system was fine and the plumber was at fault for issues unrelated to the septic system. During the process of analyzing the situation, Dave was courteous and professional. He never tried to point the finger at anyone, but always stated that if the problem was due to the septic he would fix it- NO CHARGE! He was a pleasure to work with and his crew clearly take pride in doing a good job. Again due to the heavy rains we had, Zaring was unable to regrade the lawn right away, but promised to come out once the ground was dry. They were true to their word and called us to arrange a convenient time to come back before we even had a chance to call them! I can't imagine using anyone else if we ever need septic services in the future

Septic Tank Service FAQ

  1. What are the signs your septic tank is full?

Answer: There are several signs that indicate your septic tank could be full. These include standing water over your septic tank, a strong odor coming from your yard, gurgling water, slow drains, or a sewage backup. While many of these signs could also be indicative of a clogged system, they should all be checked out by a professional ASAP to avoid costly damages. In the absence of any of these signs, it’s recommended that septic tanks be emptied every 3 to 5 years on average.

  2. How often should a septic tank be serviced?

Answer: On average, septic tanks should be serviced every 3 to 5 years in the absence of any worrying signs that the tank is clogged or full. The size of your septic tank, the number of people living in your home, and your average water usage will all impact how often your septic tank needs to be serviced.

  3. What are the most common causes of septic tank failure?

Answer: The most common cause of septic tank failure is improper maintenance. Failing to pump a septic tank on the appropriate schedule will cause septic tank failure and likely result in a costly septic tank repair or replacement. On average, septic tanks should be pumped every 3 to 5 years, but the size of your tank, the number of people in your home, and your average water usage may shorten or extend this timeframe.

  4. How much does it cost to pump a septic tank?

Answer: The cost to pump a septic tank is $400 on average or about $0.30 per gallon. The size of your septic tank, as well as local labor costs, will impact the cost of pumping your septic tank. Most septic tanks are between 600 and 2,000 gallons in size, meaning the average cost range is between $180 to $600.

  5. How much does it cost to install a septic system?

Answer: The cost to install a septic tank system is between $3,060 and $9,810, on average. The size of the septic tank you choose, the land you’re installing it on, the type of system you choose, and local labor costs will all influence the total cost of installing a septic system. Anaerobic septic tanks (those that don’t need oxygen) typically cost between $3,000 and $8,000. Aerobic systems, which utilize oxygen to activate bacteria and are popular on smaller properties, usually cost between $10,000 and $20,000.

  6. How long does a septic system last?

Answer: When septic systems are well maintained, they can last up to 30 years or more. If a septic system isn’t properly maintained, such as when it isn’t pumped regularly, it may malfunction and require costly repairs or a premature replacement. In general, septic tank pumping is recommended every 3 to 5 years to ensure the septic system lasts as long as possible.
