    I own multiple properties and I have had experience with the worst imaginable roofer (literally all summer to do a 2-day job which only lasted 6 years) to so-so roofers, to quality roofing. Unfortunately, you really don’t know what you have with a roof until time goes by – maybe years. I have also learned that there must a million ways to cut corners in roofing and the homeowner simply doesn’t know what they don’t know – until later…..For me, I want the job done right, to last: Quality. I can’t imagine any other parameter that matters with a roof. But how do you know? I chose Sharp to do 2 roofing jobs: including my home. I chose them because of the transferable GAF Golden Pledge Warranty ( [*** Link removed ***] ). GAF carries the warranty – not the local roofer who might be gone tomorrow. With these 2 jobs, I only had Golden Pledge roofers give me a quote. The quotes were basically all the same. Of that group, Sharp was the most responsive, in every way. In fact, I would say that Derrick bent over backwards for me to deal with wind damage/insurance on one job. That’s a great story in itself. The crews did it right by every parameter including dealing with the problems that show up when the shingles are off. That will happen too, whether you find out or not. I know that roofing can be seen as a commodity where you go for as cheap a price as possible. I’ve learned it’s not and my review is to help the next person not make the same mistakes I made in the past when I was less informed. Do it right and save yourself all the hassle from a cheapo roofer doing a lousy job. One last thing, don’t let the friendly, smooth talking of the roof salesman sell you. What you want is demonstrable, tangible quality- that’s a lasting warranty from a company that’s going to be around. They have to prove it too. Either way, you’re going to pay. Quality costs less as time goes by

    My quote was $190 low. They sent a guy to measure. He knew we had carpet to remove, yet Carla didn’t include that on the quote so I ended up with a surprise when I paid off my balance. I never had an issue with them before. They use to be professional.

    I hired Sharp Construction to Replace our Roof, Replace the Gutters on the house, Replace two windows in our Garage and replace carpet in two of our rooms. In all areas they did a 5 star job. We new there were leaks in our roof and would need to be addressed. The installers did a great job and went above expectations. On all projects the cleanup was exceptional and they would arrive in the times that they provided. Sharp was very detailed in the scope of work and also in the preparing of the work. It was a great pleasure to work with Dan W and the Sharp team. I would not hesitate to hire them again. They have proven multiple times to me that they will go above and beyond the scope of work to be the company they are today!!! Thank you Sharp for your professionalism and team

    DO NOT USE COMPLETE FLOORING! If you do- document every conversation and do not pay until your project is 100% complete. I can't begin to describe my frustration with this company. We began working with Ryan and initially were very pleased. He was knowledgeable and responsive during the selection process. The moment we put our deposit down everything changed. The first of many problems began before demo. We confirmed everything multiple times prior to our start date, and Ryan did not order a portion of the material. There was zero communication between trades, so the sub contractors showed up and ripped up flooring that wasn't supposed to be removed. Ryan took zero responsibility for poor project management throughout the job resulting in countless issues. A layer of subfloor that had been nailed down was removed, and the nail holes were not filled before pouring leveling compound that leaked ALL OVER our unfinished basement. We didn't realize it right away, and by the time we noticed it was dried onto our furniture, clothes, and kids toys that were being stored in the basement. Ryan claimed to have never seen this in all the years he's been in flooring and even blamed our builder for leaving "gaps" allowing the leaks... We called our builder, who eventually diagnosed the issue correctly. The sub contractors were mostly professional, (aside from being obviously high when returning from breaks). Like an idiot, I paid in full when asked, and Ryan has since taken 4+ months to complete a number of small punch list items. Our project began in December 21, it's now July 22 and still incomplete. I am generally happy with the install of the flooring and carpet, but the finishes look cheap and messy (door and wall trim, edges, wall repair). I'm embarrassed with myself for paying in full, and now I can't really go back to request things be redone to our liking. We are reasonable people, and did our best to work through the countless issues with CFI, but I feel obligated to caution anyone who is taking on a flooring project not to use this company. Work with a builder, or do your research and get references before spending 30K plus only to be disappointed. We are now planning to spend an additional 10K with our builder to have all of the crappy finishes repaired. Should have done it right the first time. Hope this helps somebody!

    The absolute worse service experience I've ever had. Shortly after Rich and his brother arrived, Rich told me his brother had an OPEN, INFECTED wound and that it smells. He asked me not to call the store because he didn't want his brother to get fired. His brother went on to explain he lost half his buttocks. When they left for a smoke break an hour later, I called the store and told them what I found out and that I didn't want someone with an infected wound (contagious) in my home! After almost two hours, Rich retuned with his cousin and didn't leave my home until 8:30pm! Rich did not move my furniture back in place, leaving the job I paid for unfinished. I emailed the owner, Bob Sullivan, and gave him all this information and expected him to agree that what I experienced was totally unacceptable. Not the case. Bob Sullivan could not care less about customer service. He had the gall to say, "People get sick." I reiterated this wasn't a person who was just sick, he had an OPEN INFECTED WOUND!! I asked what he'd do for me and after arguing back and forth, he said I could deduct $100 off my $4,000 bill for not having my furniture moved back. Bob Sullivan was arrogant and dismissive - even his employees told me he is a difficult, stubborn man. Please shop elsewhere

They were clean as you go, efficient and polite. Even the little details were discussed before proceeding with the project.     Jacobsen was extremely thorough on the front end of the project. It was planned and very well and designed in great detail. Dwight is very detail oriented and his experience helped guide us in ensuring that everything was well thought out. The project began and ended on schedule. All of the subcontractors were polite, personable, and professional. Dwight was engaged throughout the project and ensured that everything stayed on track. When a small issues arose (and small issues will always arise), the crew helped guide us to solutions in a timely and effective manner. Dwight is a true professional and just as importantly, he surrounds himself with true professionals. When we encountered an issue with our gas meter, they took charge and worked through it even though it was technically our issue and not their issue. It was a great example of how to properly assess a situation and then promptly and effectively work through it without burdening the customer. At the end of the day, we could not be more pleased with the end result. Our family room has received a much-needed upgrade, and it was done in a timely manner and with minimal interruption to our daily activities. As our family continues to grow, it is comforting to know that we can rely on Dwight and his crew to help us with any and all home alterations that may be required in the future. I would enthusiastically work with Jacobsen again, and would recommend that you do the same

    .. We previous had experience with Dwight Jacobsen (Jacobsen Remodeling, Inc) as he completely remodeled our kitchen a few years back. The result was fantastic. We contacted Dwight again,knowing we would receive the fairest , best quality,and timeliest workmanship available. In June 2011, I drew a preliminary plan for the addition, based on our requirements. We met with Dwight & his selected Designer and discussed the project. A few changes were made for the handicap rooms and by early July we had the building permit and the work began. The excavators came first & dug the space for the foundation & crawkspace. By mid July the concrete foundation & crawlspace were poured & completed. The rough-in carpenters & roofers came next, completing the outside walls,interior rafters, and roof by late July. Insulation was applied on the roof interiors, the inside wall interiors, the foundation inside walls by early August.The plumbing, and heating ducts were roughed-in by early August, as was the electrical wiring & outlets.The dry-walls were installed about the second week of August, then the handicap shower and cabinet installed in the bathroom. Following that, the base cabinet for the laundry was installed. The finish work on the dry-walls was completed the next week.Outside vinyl siding was completed by mid August. Finish carpenters began installing doors, wood molding, sinks and commode by mid August. Plumbing and heating was completed at that time too. The painters began on the walls, doors and molding, doing a great job with the stain, completing everything by mid to late August.The carpet and vinyl flooring was installed in early September. We had the upright freezer, washer & dryer moved from the basement into the laundry room at that time. The township inspectors issued the final approval to occuply, and we moved into the new addition. Dwight Jacobsen managed this project with great skill. He was present during each phase and workday, directing the work and suggesting better ways to accomplish the job being done. All the work crews displayed a great knowledge of trheir craft. The addition was a beautiful success because of them, an d Dwight's supervision. Last, but not least, this project is "Grandma Approved".
