Apple RemodelingApple just completed a five month project involving about a dozen subcontractors and at least the same number of inspections by Building department. Due to Ted’s close oversight and frequent presence on site everything went smoothly, on budget, and on time. There are always some cost adjustments and occasional timing issues in construction, but none had any negative effect on our 100% total satisfaction with Apple. There were no surprises and no BS. Ted was thorough, professional, extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of entire process, easy to work with, and kept the subcontractors on task and on schedule.- S M.

He carefully interviewed us, found out how we would be using the space and took the time to get to know us. He created a design with several a la carte options to make sure we met our budget. Though covid hit right in the middle of our hardscape construction, he and his team got right back on the job when the city allowed. The finished product was incredible and we have thoroughly been able to enjoy the backyard as a result. Throughout the process, Cedric and the team were very helpful in explaining the overall process and contacting the various teams we needed (fencing, tree removal, etc.) to get our backyard in the shape we wanted - we're thankful we went through their team, as it made it certainly easier. Cedric and his team are very detail oriented, and take pride in all of the work they did (e.g. cement pour, grading, planting, construction, etc.) and it definitely shows through in the final product. Design Exteriors LLCCedric and the team did a great job, from the initial design of our patio through completion. Despite some challenging circumstances (winter weather, COVID lockdown, etc) the company did a great job of being transparent about timing and did their best to finish the job to meet our expectations. We are thrilled with our new outdoor living space, which now includes a pergola for shade and gas fire pit. Saxton ConstructionWe had been waiting a number of years to start several projects for our backyard and finding the right contractor to help us turn them into reality was very important. Neill Saxton with Saxton Construction thankfully turned out to be that contractor. We wanted to build a new two car garage, move the overhead lines in our yard to be buried, and upgrade the electrical service coming into the house and the new garage. Through the entire process Neill was there to help provide insight on what was possible and to listen to and adjust plans to address our concerns and questions. Each step of the way we dealt with professional, highly skilled workers, who did things right the first time. They also worked with an efficiency and speediness that made us feel that having the project done on time was as important to them as it was to us. Although there were some needed adjustments to the overall plan as we moved along (needing to upgrade the sewer line for example), Neill had the needed solution every time, and he was honest and upfront about the changes and options so we could evaluate the choices before proceeding. It was a pleasure working with Neill and all those associated with Saxton Construction. They deliver high quality work, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. From the first visit talking about our vision of what we wanted the yard to look at, to his hand drawn yard plan to the choosing of plants and finally the installation of them as well as a gorgeous circular patio with retaining and seating wall, we couldn't be happier. Business Description:
ElkStone finishes custom basements in five to six weeks!
Recent Review:
I hired Elkstone to finish my basement (about 1700 square feet) in March 2016, so this review is a bit late but can speak to the longer term quality of Elkstone's work. They were very responsive, quick to answer questions that I had, and willing to make a number of changes to the proposed floorplan. Their personnel had some very good--and stylish--recommendations on how to obscure overhead venting, pipes, and a radon mitigation pipe. They worked closely with local suppliers to match my existing house's trim, wall colors, and design motifs. You cannot tell that it was added four years after the house's build date! It's now been three years, and I have had zero problems with any of Elkstone's work. They use quality materials and employed quick, reliable personnel who clearly had the expertise needed to get the job done and done correctly. There are two areas that I feel the prospective client should be aware of prior to hiring Elkstone. Neither of them are reasons not to hire them, but just some minor inconveniences that I encountered. First, if you choose to use another supplier or subcontractor for an aspect of the work (I decided to use Costco for carpet instead of Elkstone's contractor), you will need to be there and coordinate that work. I assumed the Elkstone project manager would be there to let in the carpet guys, but that didn't happen. Second, their overall electrical engineer had some definite ideas about what he wanted in terms of lighting. I had to argue with him to get what I wanted when what I wanted went against what he felt should happen. The man was an expert in his field, and the quality of the electrical work was fantastic; he just was a bit stubborn at times if he didn't like what you wanted to do. In the end he did do what I wanted. This was three years ago, so the gentleman may not even be there anymore. Again, neither of my cautions are reasons to avoid Elkstone. They were very competitive in their pricing (indeed, about $15000 less than another bid for a very similar floor plan), their workmanship is fantastic, and they were a joy to work with. I heartily recommend them to anyone looking for basement finishing services.

Chuck and his helper did a great job for me. I contacted him on Thursday and we set up a time on Monday morning to do the work. He kept in touch via email and text letting me know approximate ETA and was on time and got the job done in a respectable amount of time. Not so quick that I questioned the quality and not too long. He did a thorough job for a great price, told me what he repaired in the process, and even blew out my (ground level) gutters before leaving for no extra charge (his idea). I would recommend hiring in the spring or summer when they're less busy?
