"Chuck did a fantastic job, his plans were very detailed and exactly what we talked about. Through the whole process Chuck has only been a text or a call away and has come to the site through out all the construction to check on the progress. Chuck is very easy to work with and we would for sure recommend him."
"Henry is great to work with! He and his crew have done several projects for my house. He communicates the plan and expectation clearly, is very responsive to emails and text, and gets work done efficiently. Highly recommend!"
"Unique Perspective did an outstanding experience from start to finish. Steve helped bring our vision to life by creating the architectural plans and as-built drawings for our home, and his expertise truly made the entire process seamless. His attention to detail, professionalism, and knowledge were exceptional. He took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and transformed our ideas into beautifully organized, well-designed plans. We were incredibly impressed with his communication, creativity, and ability to make everything feel simple and stress-free. If you are looking for someone talented, reliable, and highly skilled in architectural planning and residential design, I cannot recommend him enough. We will absolutely work again with his company in the future ."
"Michael Byron, Atlas LLC Design and Development Services, Denver, CO 80210, 303-263-2665, is truly a breath of fresh air when dealing with a contractor/service provider. Although I have not known Michael for a long period of time, from the first conversation I knew that I was dealing with an ethical and caring person. Prior to hiring Michael I had spoken to several Architects, and not only did I find them to be curt, bothered, but they were not forthcoming with their ideas, and once I received their bids for my addition/remodeling project, I realized that they were at the very top tier of any professional with their high costs (go ahead check for yourself---staggering). Anyway, back to Atlas LLC., so Michael was very patient, extremely thorough during the entire process making sure that the design was fully thought out in appearance, function, and costs. Michael was also hired to obtain the necessary structural design and drawings from an Engineer that he works with. This is extremely important at a time when the trades are very busy, he kept things on track and coordinated the process. Michael was very good with the communication, and continued to assist with building officials as needed on the road to completion and permit approval. Okay, Michael sounding pretty good right? Now, about me this was not my first go round, I am a successful real estate agent 25+ years in the Denver metro area. I have had dozens of my own projects, and have participated with clients in hundreds. Michael has made a very stressful process---construction in the middle of a move, much more tolerable, and I will gladly refer him to anyone in need of Design Services for their next project or remodel. "Chris and his team were amazing every step of the way. Starting with the design and planning, the installation, and answering questions after the project was completed their customer care and professionalism was second to none. The work they did looks beautiful and really adds to both the value and the asthetic of our home."
"Steve was great to work with. We had drawings done by an architect we planned to work with who then couldn't meet our budget in the end. We found Steve who took those drawings and made small changes that led to major impacts. Steve helped us build a beautiful ADU. He saw the project through from start to finish. He was often at the jobsite overseeing things. He made sure the project was built correctly and would answer our call every time. He was timely, professional yet personable and extremely knowledgeable. We would highly recommend him and have to our friends who were building."
"We got many quotes and had many meetings with companies and Sigi was by far the most professional, knowledgeable and affordable. He had worked for our builder's warranty division so knew the permits to get and HOA requirements. We were amazed by the communication throughout the process and so impressed with how our backyard turned out. We absolutely love it! Sigi came back a couple of times after the backyard was complete to check on the irrigation system and sod to assure all was working properly and growing. We highly recommend Sigi/MG Landscaping!"
"I highly recommend Centennial Landscaping. I hired them to build a paver patio and do yard edging. Larry was very prompt with his estimate, and it was a competitive price. He is very easy to communicate with, listens and offers suggestions. And, he followed the project's progress daily. The crew was outstanding. They showed up every day by 8 a.m. and worked until 6 p.m. They were very friendly, professional and respectful of my property. At the end of the project, they did a great job cleaning up. Diego is an expert with pavers. The patio he built is beautiful. From the estimate to the completion of the project I couldn't have been more pleased with this company. If I need any landscaping in the future, I will definitely call Centennial."
"We had a great experience working with Vital Architecture and highly recommend her.
For Little Village Childcare, she helped us save money by confirming certain landlord requests were not required by code and securing a waiver that saved space and costs.
She also reduced civil engineering expenses by preparing the playground drainage plan herself.
During construction, she provided extra support at no cost and helped us handle contractor changes wisely.
For another church childcare project, she identified zoning issues early so everyone understood the risks.
In Colorado Springs, she warned a tenant about higher plumbing costs required by childcare regulations, helping them avoid a bad lease.
For an adult care project, she reviewed the food area and explained new kitchen and ventilation requirements.
Carmen is knowledgeable, thorough, and truly looks out for her clients’ best interests."
"I hired David for two reasons. I am one the person who taught him for many years, who happens to be a reputable Denver landscape company, but also because a crew I hired to do my outdoor area in my backyard stopped work and disappeared. David completed my kitchen under budget, and with the detail that only a true outdoor Craftsman could do. Highly recommend!"
You can draw your own house plans using three-dimensional modeling software, but in most cases, you’ll need an architect to draw up the final plans. Architects understand local building regulations and requirements, so their plans will be necessary for getting permits approved, and they’ll also ensure your home is structurally sound. DIY house plans can be a good place to start to help visualize your project, but you should always defer to a professional before trying to proceed with the project.
Universal design is a design concept that states that products, spaces, and general environments are designed to be used by everyone, with an emphasis on accessibility for those with limited mobility or other special needs.
Balancing aesthetics with functionality amidst space planning is important. To do so, you could consider consulting both an interior designer and an architect to fulfill both these needs. Or you can tackle it on your own by prioritizing personal touches amidst space planning that add to the look but don't take away from the livability of the space.
In most cases, yes, hiring a draftsperson will be more affordable than the cost of hiring an architect. However, it’s important to note that the reason is because these professionals provide different services. Draftspersons are more affordable because they do more general mock-ups that help align your contractors with your vision for your home renovation project. An architect will provide more detailed drawings that include technical specifications, structural considerations, and even mechanical components, like electrical box and HVAC ductwork placement.
Federal and Colonial architecture are similar in that they both appear mostly utilitarian and symmetrical, but Federal architecture is a bit more ornate. Federal design often includes decorative palladium windows, window lintels, and, sometimes, columns surrounding a more decorative portico. Inside, Federal architecture is set apart by its centrally-located oval room. Additionally, Federal homes tend to have brick facades, whereas Colonial homes more often have wood siding.
