  James was a complete professional. He met with us for about 2 months on a weekly basis until we were comfortable with all of the details of the home, the budget, etc. He got to work immediately. He is very creative and takes pride in his work. He managed all subcontractors, and any little detail we were not 100% pleased with, he had it corrected. He is very detail oriented. Nothing gets past him. We looked through lots of his open houses for about 5 years before we could afford to build and knew we wanted him to build our home when the time came. The thing we are most impressed with is the quality and how structurally sound his homes are. Our home is an Energy Star home, and we anticipate our energy bills to be minimal as a result. Our third party home inspector commented that "You don't see houses built like this much anymore." We would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to build a home, do a remodeling or landscaping project or to improve the energy efficiency of their current home. We plan to use him again as we add to our landscaping and when we get ready to finish our basementshow more

  Elm Construction did our major remodel, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. We did a total renovation of the living areas of our house and included a laundry room addition. The renovation included gutting our kitchen, removing interior walls, moving a staircase, the laundry addition, replacing and covering our deck, and reconfiguring the layout of our finished basement. It was a big job! From working with Elliott on the design, to getting the 3D rendering, to the actual demo and reconstruction, the experience went so smoothly. Donavon, our project manager, stayed on top of everything and went out of his way to make sure everything was done to the highest of standards. Donavon kept in touch daily, and they provided us a link to their portal which made scheduling, change orders, and payments easy. We lived in part of the house during the whole thing, and Elliott and Donavon made sure we weren’t too inconvenienced. We will definitely use Elm again for any future projects.   Went fairly well. I first used their services to identify and then fix water leaks in my town house. The roofer I used couold not find the eaks nor could 2 other "experts" they called in. Then they quit returning my calls. Reliable Rmodeling came in looked at the job. We went into a contract just to determine the problem with all monies paid to go against the cost of fixing the leak. Turns oout it wasa construction problem. The wrong size board had been used and that left open a water channel which I saw pictures of. i have worked with several of their crews.I have had several contracts with them including carpet and inside painting. Work is done on time and within the contract. The crews are well supervised. I am quite satisfied with the work and how it gets done. High quality work. Highly recommend theshow more

  We worked with Alabama Stone Works through the cabinetmaker (Archer Cabinets). Alabama Stone works did a great job. They were very helpful during the selection process by making recommendations for granite colors that were in the price and color range we were looking for. They came out to measure and do the template and about a week later, they did the installation. Prior to installation, they apply a granite sealer that lasts for 5 years. They installed 3 cm. thick Santa Cecilia granite (from Pacific Shore) in the kitchen with an under mount stainless steel sink. After the installation, we noticed an issue with the level-ness of the counter top and they were able to come out the same day to fix itshow more

  The work took about six weeks to complete. Though John is not quick his work is exceptional in quality. He plays attention to details and will work with you to make sure the end result is exactly what you want. He contracts with experienced craftsmen and they were all very pleasant to the family. The only two points I would mention is the tile person is just that; a tile person. Do not expect an artisan. If you want the tiles laid in an order other than the order that they are stacked in the box you should lay them out before the tile person starts and explain up front that you expect a specific pattern. This is probably common practice and just ignorance on our part. However, John had the tile person redo some of the work at no extra charge. Also, the plummer reworked some of our pluming to accommodate changes with new faucets and re-positioning the sinks. He took the copper and replaced it with Pex Pipe which is fine. However, he did not give us the option of keeping the copper. We would have liked to have kept it as we are borderline hoarders. Overall we are very pleased with John's work and we have started phase two of our home improvement with him - Hardwoods and kitchen remodel. He is estimating phase three - front porch.   Riverbrook is very professional, they do amazing work, and have great integrity. Leigh worked with us to create a functional layout and beautiful design for our master suite, and Kevin did an amazing job of carrying it out. They kept everything within the timeframe we planned and made sure everything not only looked great but was done correctly. With every remodel there will be hang ups, and that is where they set themselves apart, they always kept things moving, and were great with communication throughout the entire process. That makes all the difference in the world when going through a big renovation. I cannot recommend these guys enough. River Brook did an incredible job on our remodelshow more
