We have been Birmingham’s respectful home remodeling company for the past 20 years, and as such - we have found that most home owners fear that during the process, their home will be violated and they will feel inconvenienced and disrespected. This is why Harmony Remodeling has created a unique method of construction that guarantees the home owner with an on-time, clean, responsible, stress free remodeling experience that will surpass their exacting standards and high expectations. We put as much emphasis on the process as we do the product. We are after your referral, not your savings account. Our company's core values are based on honesty, integrity, good ethics, UNCONDITIONAL RESPECT and most of all … HARMONY. By working “in sync” and unselfishly with our homeowners - our fellow employees, our suppliers, and our shareholders all have the same goal: Harmony. Simply put, "The Harmony Way” was developed to provide everyone involved more life; a better life with as little stress or disruption as possible. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- We started out in 1996, doing a few small jobs which eventually led to many larger projects. As the company grew, we came to understand that the way we made the Homeowners feel had more of an impact on the project than the physical structure that we built. We constructed many custom homes and finished many remodeling projects that were "fit for a king." But we began to realize that you can create the most incredible kitchen, bath, house - whatever, for someone … and if you stress them out in the process, they won't appreciate any of it. So, with that knowledge, we started focusing on the "process" as much as we did the product. The result was that time after time, when we put everything we had into showing the upmost of respect to the owner, their family, their property, and (most of all) their every day routine, it was a success. In the end, they loved the job and would emphatically refer us to thier friends. So today, we've fine-tuned this approach and developed a code of conduct for our employees, our subs and our vendors that focuses on our number one objective: Trust and Respect. Once that is established, we can accomplish anything and rest assured that everyone is happy. So, when we are asked, "What makes your company different?," it's easy. Our business systems focus on the desire to deliver a "Stress Free Remodeling Experience," (as opposed to fast profits) which in turn results in our customers' delight with the project AND THE PROCESS. At Harmony, we're interested in a GREAT referal, not your savings account.

"This is partially true. True: Harmony Remodeling will not give a free quote on a project, where objects are relocated or drawings are required for permitting purposes, without a set of plans. Its part of our "Client Fulfillment Process" and we feel we cannot ensure a quotes accuracy based on what we think is inside of a Homeowner's mind. However, It does not matter to Harmony where you get those plans or who draws them. Your welcome to draw them yourself if you'd like. We do have several talented Architects and Designers that we recommend based on past performance and they base their fees according to that talent. They are all independent contractors and Harmony receives no compensation for any part of this. We recommend them because they have the "Artistic" Ability to see possibilities most people couldn't and they make sure we get the chance to explore every option. This "Planning" Stage of the project is the most critical and most mistakes made during the remodeling process are due to a lack of proper planning. Therefore, in an attempt to minimize mistakes and keep stress to a minimum, this is the most important part of the process and we will not just give out hap-hazard quotes "on the fly". Most contractors don't understand the importance of the process and will give free quotes without any drawings because either they haven't learned to plan yet, or they know, but don't care if the quote is accurate because they know they can make it up with Change Orders later. This has turned into a "rant" so i'm quitting now, but call me anytime if any part of this does't make sense. Thanks, Mike Jones 205-365-6575"
"Hi [member name removed], Michael passed along your Angie’s List review to me and I wanted to personally apologize for dropping the ball. Needless to say, he is more than angry with me for my haphazardness leading to a poor review for his company. Tho we do occasionally work together, our businesses are separate and I feel very bad on MANY levels. I am not in any way making excuses; I did just want to say I am sorry. It was not with ill intent that I failed to get back with you – I actually was trying to come up with an evening or weekend that I could meet and I somehow just let too much time get away. We have 5 children (one of which is only 3 months) and I try desperately to keep 8AM-4PM working hours but he had said you were such a pleasure to speak with … I wanted to accommodate you. I TOTALLY acknowledge that my procrastination was very unprofessional. I should have at the very LEAST let you know I was trying to slot some afterhours time for you. I’m not sure if there is any way I can get back in your good graces? Or if you might consider offering me a second chance. I completely understand if you do not – and appreciate your hesitation in doing so … but I wanted to throw it out there in the event you felt so compelled. At the very minimum, I wanted to be sure to recognize and apologize for my negligence - regardless of the outcome. Kindest personal regards, Jennie Jones"

"This wasn't our company. We don't service that area."
"We did a remodel consultation for this member, free of charge, and provided different drawings and designs, also free of charge. Then we gave her an itemized estimate of the cost on one particular design we felt she liked the most. The estimate was based on specifications and allowances for average materials and fixtures. We explained to her that it was just an estimate, and that when she made her selections we would be able to give her a more accurate quote. At that point she let us know that there was no way that she would spend that much money and then never called us back. We apologize if we were unclear when giving her the original estimate and wish that she would have given us the time to finish working through the estimating process, especially after working so hard for her during the initial consolation and design as well as all the hours in the drawings and estimate."
