"Steve was a no show for our initial consultation and that should have been our indication to not hire him . We had to call him and he gave us the first of many excuses but he eventually showed up. Steve checked out the job of repairing our sprinkler system manifold, replacing pipes and updating our timer. Steve was either late or just never showed up every time we set up a day to come work on it. Steve eventually finished the job and gave us his guarentee, so we paid him $1100 the day he completed the job. All was better, so we thought. Heck he even offered my son a job saying he is always short-handed. When my sons school year ended (exactly 3 days after he offered him a summer job) my son tried getting in touch with him multiple times Steve never replied. I've tried numerous times to get in touch with Steve because my manifold he replaced and guaranteed is now leaking and a zone is not working. But Steve never answers my wifes calls and messages or mine. Once you pay him good luck ever seeing or hearing from this hack again. We tried giving one of the smaller local companies a try and this was our experience with Steve at Wyoscapes. Horrible."

At Bull Moose Land Services we have a relatively small crew - 3 to 8, depending on the job - but we still have a diverse array of specialties, from tree services to irrigation. In fact, our specialty is fire mitigation, especially in places like cabin homes that reside in heavily forested areas. A fire-mitigation job can range from simple to complex: we might just collect debris (i.e., fuels) from the ground and haul them off or stack to burn in the winter or we may have large numbers of trees to cut and remove in addition to installation of fire-mitigation irrigation systems. We have experience working in many cities in Wyoming, including Jackson, Laramie, Casper, and Cheyenne, but we will also work in neighboring states.

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

Water your yard a little more deeply after a drought for about two weeks (while still avoiding overwatering). Continue to water in the early morning hours before 10 a.m. You'll also want to invest in some high-quality fertilizer to get more nutrients to your roots and help them grow back stronger and quicker. Look up your grass and soil type, or do a soil test, to see what type of fertilizer you need.

Yes, you can overseed your lawn without aerating it, but results may vary. If you have the time, dethatching or aerating your lawn before overseeding will yield the best results. Overseeding your lawn without aerating will work, but less seed will take root. For the best possible results, aerate your lawn before overseeding it.

Routine lawn care costs between $50 and $250 per service, with an average of around $100. Most homeowners need one service per week through the spring and summer, and many switch to snow removal services in the winter. The price you’ll pay will depend on a few different factors:

  • Size of your lawn

  • Complexity of your lawn layout and obstructions

  • Requested services

  • Home’s location

  • How quickly your grass grows

If your lawn hasn't been aerated in over a year, or the soil is incredibly compacted, do two passes with the aerator. The first pass should follow your mowing pattern and the second one should form a perpendicular angle relative to the first. Stick to 20 to 40 holes per square foot as a rule of thumb.

Bahia grass is not difficult to grow, but you might need patience for this slow-growing grass. Whereas some grass species, like Bermuda grass, can take 1 to 2 weeks to germinate, Bahia grass can take two or three times as long, making it seem like it won’t grow. But again, once your Bahia grass is established, it requires little maintenance. Its deep root system makes it a very durable grass that can bounce back after freezes and droughts.
