"Adkins Plumbing & Contracting LLC went above and beyond with extreme professionalism and extraordinarily time management! My home needed complete water main line replacement and sewer replacement both to city connections, along with complete replacement of all piping inside! Along with this, my house was sagging inward, main beams compromised, Jarred had the whole project completed in less than a week! Other contractors in the area couldnt start for more than 2 weeks, this amazing crew got all my issues completed with clear communication throughout the whole process! Phenomenal doesnt even begin to describe this man and his crew! If you need anything for your home, contact Jarred at Adkins Plumbing and you know you will be in professional and caring hands!! Thank you Jarred, you literally turned a nightmare into my dream home!! This man and his crew seriously delivers! Top notch work and professionalism is hard to come by these days, both are ingrained within this man!"

"Excellent Service. Jared and his crew were very professional, walked through the entire install prior to work. The excavation was performed with care to our property, they reseeded the grass afterwards. They permanently marked were each fitting along the run is located, so we know where to check if the line leaks years into the future. Professional, Friendly, high Quality. This will be the go to plumbers for all future jobs!"

Excavating questions, answered by experts

The best type of soil to build on is a mixture of sand and clay, known as loam soil. Loam soil has the best combination of these soil types to build a foundation on. The clay particles help with water retention, so it won’t erode like sandy soil might, and the sandy particles help with drainage, so you won’t see unsafe soil expansion or have an increased risk of leaks from water sitting against your foundation.

Professional installers often include a deep layer of crushed gravel under permeable pavers to allow more runoff to soak through into the soil below. Many installations will include multiple layers of gravel, with coarser aggregate at the base and finer aggregate that sits on top of that bottom layer. Above the gravel, you’ll often find coarse sand that helps reduce paver shifting over time. Some permeable paver designs include a water collection system set into the gravel layer to route runoff to a safe area for disposal.

To determine whether your homeowners' insurance will cover crawl space repair, consider the cause of the issue. Repair may be covered if the problems were caused by an event that the insurance covers, such as vandalism or a windstorm. However, companies won't cover the repair if the issues are caused by neglect or wear and tear.

Downspouts should be buried at least 5 to 10 feet away from your foundation. This can vary depending on your local building codes, soil type, and property slope. The main goal is to ensure water is directed away from your foundation.

A mini excavator can dig between 5 and 11 feet deep, depending on the type and size of the mini excavator. Mini hydraulic excavators are more powerful and can reach deeper into the earth, but electric models have a more limited range. Mini excavators over two tons in size are also more powerful and able to dig as deep as 11 feet.
