"Handyman connections added stairs to one of my decks on a new construction home. The stairs look absolutely amazing. They also had the county inspect their work to ensure the work meets code. And the project was completed within the estimated budget. Kudos to the entire team to include Bruce, the craftsman that did most of the work on site."

"1 - Domínguez is a true professional. We modified the contract & he was able to update & email it at the job site. You can't ask for better service. 2 - He made sure our furniture, closet, TV, etc we're all protected. His setup to confine the dust to the work area is top notch! 3 - We all know customers don't really know what they're doing or need. After he completed the install, we found a higher rated insulation that he agreed would be better & he swapped it out. His attitude showed us he really wants to take care of the customer & he won't tell us we're idiots LOL 4 - After modifying the contract, he also installed a toilet we purchased. Since the house is builder grade, the connections are horrible. He recognized what was needed & resolved the problem w/o delay. 5 - I'm recommending him to all my neighbors & friends in the Martinsburg/Charlestown/ Hagerstown area. You can't find someone with this skillset that's trustworthy and has admin & technical skills. Jeiser is the best!"

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Pool leaks most commonly occur at joints or where different materials meet. The most frequent leak spots include:

  • The Pool Skimmer: Where the plastic skimmer meets the pool's liner or shell.

  • The Pool Liner: Tears can develop in vinyl liners, especially those between 5 and 20 years old. Leaks also occur around the liner's edge.

  • Fittings and Accessories: Areas around return lines, the main drain, and pool lights are common culprits.

  • Pool Equipment: The pump, filter, and filter housing can also leak.

While leaks in underground pipes are less common, they can be costly to fix. It's usually best to check the more common spots before investigating the plumbing system.

You can use a plunge pool any time of the year, including winter. Be sure to install a pool heater if you plan to take a dip in the plunge pool when temperatures are low to avoid risk of hypothermia. You will also want to add a sturdy pool cover to protect the pool from snow, sleet, and rain during the winter months.

You don’t need to drain the whole pool to patch a pool liner, but be prepared to dive in with your swimsuit and goggles to patch a leak below the water level. By draining the pool, you can actually expose the liner to more harsh conditions, like wind and sunlight, that cause the tears to worsen. It’s best to use the ink test and waterproof patches or tape to identify the leak and patch it up.

With a regular pool, the water is contained by visible walls that are higher than the water level. An infinity pool has one or more walls that are right at the waterline so they're not truly visible. For an invisible look, the lower wall is often made of glass or clear acrylic. The water laps over the lower edge and into a catch basin below where it gets pumped back into the pool.

The best time to schedule an annual pool inspection is early or late spring, before the busy summer season. Your inspector can identify urgent issues so you can address them before using the pool. If your region is warm year-round, schedule an inspection before you start swimming regularly.
