"This contractor demoed a hole in my ceiling repaired the whole by replacing drywall and painting. He also painted my living room with two different colors of my choosing. He did a phenomenal job I would be happy to recommend to him to anyone"

"Paul and his team are wonderful to work with. Paul and team remodeled our master bath shower and built a custom shower that is absolutely beautiful. He also replaced all of our floor tile and replaced our toilet and faucets. He met with us several times before demolition to help discuss our options and was very timely delivering the contract. Paul is very responsive and easy to work with and definitely puts the needs of his clients first. Prior to demolition on our master bathroom we had an emergency with mold in our kids' bathroom. Paul and team came out immediately to fix the issue and replace our kids' shower tile and wall. He and his team worked cleanly and diligently to get the job done. I really enjoyed working with Paul and will definitely use his services for our next home project. Highly recommend!!"

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can put too much shock in a pool, and it is crucial to follow the directions on the product you are using. Adding excess shock can upset the chemical balance, make the water cloudy, have adverse effects on swimmers, damage pool equipment or surfaces, and even encourage certain types of algae to grow. If you have over-shocked your pool, perform a water test and adjust the chemicals as necessary. The pool's chemical balance will eventually return to normal as the excess chlorine dissipates over time.

No, shock and chlorine are not the same thing, though they are related and both are used for pool maintenance. Regular chlorine, often in the form of tablets, is a sanitizer used for routine, day-to-day maintenance to keep a steady chlorine level. Pool shock, however, is a highly concentrated dose of chlorine used periodically for a more intense cleaning. It rapidly raises chlorine levels to fix issues like cloudy water or algae growth and also eliminates chloramines, which are byproducts of regular chlorination. Because their purposes and concentrations differ, they are not interchangeable, and proper pool care typically requires using both.

The type of sand you need for your sand filter depends on the manufacturer’s instructions, but you’ll need to use sand specifically for pool filters. Silica sand is a wallet-friendly, common choice that’s relatively easy to replace. You’ll choose between various grades of sand and different-sized sand grains.

Hire a licensed pool contractor in your area with ample experience in your particular pool design. Pool contractors will walk you through both the design and installation process. They will also recommend or hire a team of subcontractors to manage clearing the land, excavating for the pool, and adding all the design and electrical touches that make your pool run smoothly.

Round and freeform pools are popular choices for a small backyard, although a small yard may be able to accommodate a variety of shapes. When planning a pool for your small yard, remember to take into account pool deck space, fencing requirements, and other pool-related factors that may limit your choices.
