Backstory: For this project, we needed work done on our kitchen due to a poorly covered up window (thanks to the previous owners) that had leaked for several years, leading to rot of the interior wall to the point that you could see the hardiplank siding once the plaster was pulled down. We have only been in the house three years and the budget for this required repair was not huge.
Work Process: John and Beth were very cooperative in working within our budget. Our cabinets were fairly new and still in good condition, so we wanted to keep those. They were not pushy about trying to sell us new cabinets (a big turn-off when dealing with all of the other companies that we had come in to give us estimates on the work).
This was the first time dealing with a contractor for us and they were very good about “holding our hands” through the process, keeping us updated, giving us advised options, making on the fly decisions that were spot on, letting us change our minds about stuff, and everything else positive you can think of.
Work Completed: Two walls ripped down to the studs. One wall studs and outside hardiplank pulled out and repaired/replaced on exterior. Cabinets taken out, salvaged, rehung in raised position. New drywall hung. Room/ceiling painted. Electrical work. Fixtures replaced. Appliances replaced. New counter installed. New sink, facuet, disposer installed. Additional vent added to kitchen.
Time to complete: Less than 8 days.
Additional Comments: We loved the little things that they did of their own accord, like caulking gaps between the baseboard and wall and repainting so it looked better and offering to put bumper pads on our cabinet doors and drawers so they didn’t slam shut. They also gave us a nice gift, which we are thrilled about – under-cabinet lighting in a corner that they thought was a bit too dark!
They kept everything very clean. They kept us updated daily on their progress. They apparently entertained our son with peek-a-poo during the day. (Disclaimer: They may or may not play peek-a-boo while working on other projects.)
Summary: Detail-oriented and take pride in their work. Priced right. Hard workers. Experienced and knowledgeable. However as things progressed we discovered that all of this work was sub-contracted out. Every stage of this remodeling was a done by a different sub-contractor. When all the work was completed and the workers were gone we were stuck with a noisy fan in the basement shower due to the fact that there were two different sub-contractors doing the work on the shower. Plumbing underneath the kitchen sink was improperly installed, which came apart and caused water damage under the sink. All the material used was all quality material. The work done to install this material was at best fair. We will not have this company in our home again. Upon completion, that was exactly what we paid. He never bugged us for money . In fact we had to ask him to accept a check for a partial payment after the first week. Next to the last day his company was here we again had to ask if he wanted the remaining payment.
His technicians arrived within ten minutes of the time they said every day, took 1/2 hour for lunch and worked until the agreed upon quitting time. We were told that once the job was started his men would stay on the job every day until completion which they did. They never had to leave to get materials because they came prepared with everything they needed. If they needed something they hadn't considered they made a phone call and it was delivered to them so that they wouldn't have to leave the job. One of the company owners came to our house every day to check on progress and see if we needed anything changed or altered.
Even though the job took three days longer than estimated there was no additional charge.
We have had many different contractors work on our 105 year old home over the years and was never completely satisfied until Hadco. I cannot emphasize enough how pleased we are with our new bedroom. As a matter of fact, Hadco is starting our kitchen remodel this coming Monday. "},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/wv/fairmont/hadco-inc-reviews-5544488.htm"},"position":10}]}
Kitchen Cabinet Refacing reviews from real Angi homeowners in Monongah, WV
We were very pleased with Kasey and his team. They stoned our existing island, added a backsplash, and completed for us a Butler's Pantry area that included installing cabinetry and stacked stone, along with a few other unforeseen tasks. Kasey was very quick to respond, helped us price shop...
Most definitely the worst craftsmanship I've ever seen anyone charge money for. They did a kitchen, dining room, living room floor job for my parents. Everything about the job looks like it was done by amatures, from the measuring of and sourcing of materials, to the absolutely terrible tile...

All phases of building renovation and remodeling, 5 employees. No sub contractors. Charges by the job or the hour depending on the job.
"Mike and his crew are the best contractors I've ever had the pleasure of working with in the Morgantown, WV area. My chimney was leaking and I had contacted several contractors in the area and even scheduled a few only to experience no calls and no shows for appointments and ultimately being left with nothing but ignored calls. Mike was very professional, kind, and informative throughout the entire process. I left him a message and within an hour he had called me back to ask what he and his crew could do for me. In October of 2022 he repointed my chimney and replaced the cap to fix an ongoing leak issue I had been experiencing. Mike was thorough in ensuring the leak was fixed and even asked me to hold off leaving this review until I had experienced several good rain storms to ensure the work was done. Mike and his crew should be the standard for contractor integrity. They are my first call for all my home improvement needs and I already have him lined up for a ceiling replacement."

"The ?pro? thinks he is better than he is. He did some things right, but a good finisher, he is not. Unfortunately, his lack of truly caring about the overall project and our home overshadowed any good work that he did. Do not present him (Justin) with a big job- gets flustered and can?t handle it.
When he thinks he?s done, he?s gone. Don?t pay in full until he completes the job you paid him for. "

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
The best time of year to remodel your home is late winter and early spring when fewer homeowners are thinking about projects and pros are more available. Also consider the type of remodel you want and plan ahead as much as possible. For example, the summer is a great time of year to update your fireplace, but winter is a better option for fixing foundations and building room additions.
