Mike and his crew are the best contractors I've ever had the pleasure of working with in the Morgantown, WV area. My chimney was leaking and I had contacted several contractors in the area and even scheduled a few only to experience no calls and no shows for appointments and ultimately being left with nothing but ignored calls. Mike was very professional, kind, and informative throughout the entire process. I left him a message and within an hour he had called me back to ask what he and his crew could do for me. In October of 2022 he repointed my chimney and replaced the cap to fix an ongoing leak issue I had been experiencing. Mike was thorough in ensuring the leak was fixed and even asked me to hold off leaving this review until I had experienced several good rain storms to ensure the work was done. Mike and his crew should be the standard for contractor integrity. They are my first call for all my home improvement needs and I already have him lined up for a ceiling replacement.

Outstanding work and work ethic. My roof is very complex and the chimneys were in very poor condition. Both jobs were done carefully and to perfection. My deck was replaced and it is now beautiful. In addition to do high quality work, Mike Kinsley is a great communicator, he is meticulous, and he is a nice guy. They came to work every day at 7am and worked hard. His workers, Tim and Blake, are hard workers (and sweet and friendly). Mike treats his employees with dignity and respect. Great experience from start to finish. I'm so pleased!

Mike and Tim showed up first thing every day until the job was done. They are both nice, honest guys that do great work. They had several setbacks during the projects but stayed through the very end and didn't increase the price on us at all. I would highly recommend them.

We had a wonderful experience with Kinsley Construction when we had our roof put on in 2013. We have recommended them for years. 8 years into a 60 year roof, we had a leak in our sunroom (this spring). Confused, we called Kinsley to see if they had any suggestions. Before we could even voice our concerns, they wanted to make sure we knew it wasn’t covered under warranty. So much for standing by your product. With today’s rain, we’ve discovered our second leak in a different location. We had such a great experience but didn’t expect to be patching our roof after only 8 years. Won’t be using them again in the future.

Mike Kinsley was great. He completed the project we agreed to and did an excellent job. He kept us informed of his plans and progress on a day to day basis and always let us know when he encountered some difficulty (which he was always able to resolve) with our very old house. He listened thoughtfully to us when we had ideas about what we wanted and always left his work area clean and picked up before he left. He is great to work with and is and one of the most skilled and competent professionals we have worked with over the years. We highly recommend him.

Very grateful to have found Mike to complete a huge project of gutting and remodeling a home. His expertise in all areas was evident and a lifesaver. He and his crew show up on time every day and they are moving the whole time not a second wasted. The worksite was spotless every day before they left. Mike’s word was as good as gold and he went above and beyond to look out for me, my finances, and the project even when I wasn’t there. This was an old neglected house and Mike had it transformed in a matter of days with walls going up and plumbing going in. I can’t say enough about these guys. Definitely the gold standard.

Mike Kinsley was highly recommended and for good reason! He responded to our initial query quickly, came to look at the basement soon after that (while respecting social distancing during COVID), and gave a thorough estimate and honest possible start date. He and his crew worked quickly and skillfully to revitalize our basement after sewage damage, including: building new walls; protecting and sealing walls from future moisture issues; repairing pantry shelves; adding chair rail molding; sanding and finishing stairs; sealing off an unused window; and painting the walls, floors, and ceilings of a bathroom, pantry, laundry room, and rec room. Work was finished within the time estimated and we were grateful for his care around health and safety during COVID. In addition to doing quick and excellent work, Mike was a kind, considerate, and reliable person. If we ever need anything else done, I know who we are calling.

We are very pleased with the results. The old steps had to be removed with a jackhammer and the blocks removed and then the whole lot replaced. Mike Kinsley and his crew showed up when they said they would and did an excellent job of removing the old steps/blocks and replacing them. This took a lot of concrete framing. We also had the old aluminum railings replaced with new plastic railings. We are very pleased with the results and highly recommend Kinsley Construction. This was not the first large project for which we've hired Kinsley Construction. The first was a new roof and siding, then remodeling a basement and upgrading bathrooms. Highly recommended.

Excellently--Kinsley recommended a good window company and he and his crew installed them, safely and efficiently. Kinsley is a friendly, honest, and skillful expert. Cannot speak highly enough. My windows are beautiful.

The job went perfectly. Mike and his crew are true professionals. He called me a week before and a day before - told me the crew would arrive Tuesday at 7:00am, and they actually came about 15 minutes early to begin. The entire tear-off and re-roof took only one week, which was the plan (and this was over Labor Day weekend!). Bobby was the leader on the job site. He gave me his personal cellphone the first day in case I needed to contact him for anything. We had some rainy weather that week, but Mike's philosophy is to only remove what can be recovered with liner, so no real issues with the bad weather. The entire crew was very polite, and they cleaned up and stored their tools each night. They also worked while I had 2 other contractors working on separate projects and coordinated without any interruption to the roof work. I highly recommend Mike Kinsley and his company for roof work.

Mr. Mike and Doug Kinsley did an excellent job building a new bathroom in our attic and tiling the bathtub/shower in our other bathroom. We had an attic with no existing plumbing or floor and they were able to build an excellent bathroom for us (about 14 x 7). They were professional and the work was high quality. We recently had a small issue from the bathroom installation and Mike came out and fixed it for us. He really took great care of us. I would recommend them to anyone and would hire them again without question.

Mr. Kinsley and his staff were very polite and efficient. As they took the old shingles off, they loaded unto the dump truck. There was never any debris on the lawn and the plants were always covered. They even ran a magnet over the lawn to pick up any possible nails. The garage was very old, but Mr. Kinsley and his crew did a great job and the garage went from old to looking like a new build. Would definitely call Mr. Kinsley again.

It went extremely well. Mike was true to his word every step of the way. The small crew took care of this big job professionally, courteously and quickly. We were very happy and would hire Kinsley Construction again.

Mike is very easy to work with and his crew of workmen very polite. I never worried about having his work crew in my home. Mike is true to his word, does what he says he will do. Mike and Tim were very accommodating to our family needs while doing the work. They worked fast and they kept the areas they were working in clean. They did the work to your specifications. I wax very pleased with the quality of their work and would hire them again.

Mr. Mike Kinsley and his crew demonstrated exemplary professionalism and proficiency on this job. The crew arrived on time as scheduled and if weather was anticipated to create a late start, Mr. Kinsley always notified us of potential delays. There were no hidden costs and Mr Kinsley completed this job on time and absolutely on-cost. In fact, at the last moment, we added a garage roof and Mr. Kinsley was able to meet the additional work without issue. The crew treated the property with consideration and all scraps and material were removed. Unlike prior roof jobs, we have yet to find a single roofing nail in the driveway! October 15, 2019 We had every window replaced in our 33 year old house that we had built in 1986. The windows were wooden inside and a few rotted. This was a full window replacement down to the the wooden house frame (and brick) around them. Seven windows were 36" high x 36" wide. Three windows were 48" high x 36" wide. Two windows in garage 42" high x 36" wide. Two side by side windows 42" high x 36" wide replaced by one picture window. One 42" x 36" window was replaced with a garden box window. The white wood atrium door which swings in and had a super cheap sliding screen door was replaced with a nice black outside and white inside vinyl atrium door with nice vinyl sliding screen. Andrea and I chose everything and asked Mike Kinsley to perform the work. The Pella 350 series windows were triple paned and had ultraviolet ray protection. Everything was vinyl inside and out. No wood to rot again. The initial estimate for the entire project was about $27,000. I knew there would be unknowns and Mike and I kept the contract open ended for that reason. Quality was more important than price. And Mike has to pay his bills and employees and governmental entities. And make some profit. Some of the extras are listed below. 1. - The window trim had to be replaced everywhere except for the two garage windows. Doug Kinsley replaced the trim using oak wood similar to the California Douglas fir that I installed everywhere in the house. Very high quality workmanship. Very nice. 2. - The very rotted window created some other rotting and bug problems. Andrew Kinsley works for an exterminator and resolved the bug problem. Some drywall below this window had to be repaired. 3. - The garden window box was dropped before Lowes unloaded it. A new one was ordered that took about one month to be made and shipped to Lowes. 4. - Spray in form insulation was used around the windows for extra air tightness. My paranoia. Windows, atrium door, and garden box window were about $13,000. The total project cost was $32,230. The other employees that I remember were Chris and Tim. Everyone was cordial and easy to converse with. I have used Kinsley Construction before for the following projects. 1. - create two upstairs bathroom windows. 2. - replace carpeted steps with hardwood steps. 3. - replace carpeted hallway with hardwood floors. 3. - replace carpeted bedrooms with hardwood floors. Excellent. Mike is a wonderful, honest person that is very easy to work with. He outlines exactly what needs completed on his proposal and makes sure everything is addressed. He is completely transparent with pricing and keeps excellent documentation of payments. Mike was the only contractor to set foot on my roof before completing a price estimate and was flexible with meeting times. He noticed all of the small items during his estimate that I wanted to be addressed during the work. During the work Mike made sure that all parts of my roof were covered properly during the shingle removal in case of rain. Mike was thorough with managing removed shingles and made sure the area around my house stayed as clean as possible. I'm very, very happy that Mike was able to complete the work on my roof. It looks excellent, I know it's done well, and Mike made the process very easy. I now consider Mike a good friend.

Mike and crew (Tim and Devon) did a great job with our roofing project. They arrived early (by 7am) and worked a full day only stopping for a short lunch break. They were all very professional, respectful and friendly. They cleaned up the construction debris each work day and gathered up tools and made sure nothing would be in our way. Mike checked with us often to make sure we were happy with the way the job was progressing. This concern was very much appreciated. We now have a beautiful new roof and would hire Kinsley Construction again!
