Small jobs welcome

"Central Wisconsin Excavating (CWE) did a fantastic job on our project. They built a solid, well-prepared foundation for our 80,000-bushel grain bin and graded our driveways perfectly to ensure water drains away from our buildings. Their attention to detail, quality of work, and professionalism really stood out. The site was left clean and properly finished, and everything was done right the first time. We’re extremely happy with the results and would highly recommend CWE to anyone needing excavation or site work done right."

"We had great service from Seth and his crew. Our sump pumps were running almost 24/7. Seth came over right away when I first contacted him and gave us great cost effective suggestions. After they were done, the problems were all resolved. The work involved redirecting the drainage from all our downspouts, installing yards of drain pipes and some catch basins, regrading and re-seeding the yard all around the house, They also helped us with our many â While-youâ re-at-itsâ . The guys left the place looking great and I feel like we really got our moneyâ s worth by hiring them. We highly recommend them."

"Great fix to the basement over a dozen years ago! 3 sides with metal beams for leaning foundation. Weeping tiles added too. Came back and added a second sump pump at no charge. Saw Tracy at the auto show and she reminded me that I could send in an Angie’s List review too. Recommend! ?️?"

"Mr. Boyko and crew did a marvelous job. Quote was very competitive and they were willing to provide the advertised Angie's list senior discount. Company ended up doing significant tuckpointing work that was not identified when they bid on the work, but they performed the additional work without added charge. I also had a few minor "punch list items" after I inspected the work prior to the final payment. They gladly came out that weekend and took care of the identified items. They also custom matched the mortar to my older home's original mortar. Easy to work with and very diligent. Anyone contemplating this work should do their own survey ahead of time and make sure that both parties agree upon the major work to be done and in addition to include in the bid for no added charge any additional miscellaneous tuckpointing that is identified as needed during the project. There will normally be some unidentified spots or small areas."

Foundation Drain Installation FAQs, answered by experts

Statistics show that 98% of basements will experience some form of water damage over time. However, that doesn’t mean all basements will experience severe flooding. The best way to prevent a water-damaged basement is to keep up with home maintenance and have proper drainage installed outside your home to direct water away from the foundation. You can also consider building a flood wall around the house if you live in a flood-prone area.

French drains and yard grading systems are two highly effective ways to fix standing water around the foundation. Since the French drain uses a perforated pipe covered by gravel, you won’t have to worry about water taking the soil away from your foundation. Meanwhile, yard grading levels out the ground to prevent water from gathering around your foundation.

Yes, most contractors and installers offer warranties covering materials, parts, labor, and workmanship for their installation services. It is important to confirm the specific terms and coverage details with your provider before starting the project.

A sump pump should be placed at least three feet deep in a pit. The rim of the sump pump basin should be level with your basement floor. If you find your pit is too deep, you can fill the bottom with gravel until the rim of the sump pump is flush with the floor.

Submersible and pedestal sump pumps are two popular types of sump pumps. Submersible models are covered by water in a sump pit, which helps keep the motor cooler and quieter. Pedestal sump pumps stick out of the sump pit, so the motor stays dry and is easier to access. Submersible sump pumps are the pricier option, but they also have longer life spans.
