"Tony's son did an awesome job. He was polite and professional and pretreated all of our stains first prior to the steam cleaning. He got stains out that I thought would never come out. I highly recommend them."

"I needed the job done in a certain time frame and they could not get the job done in that time so I had to get a refund. They were booked and couldn?t do the job because of that. He also couldn?t find anyone else in the area that could do it for me."

"We inherited a house with a mold problem and we were trying to get it ready to sell asap. Donny returned our call right away and scheduled an appointment within a few days. Donny inspected the areas of concern and provided an action plan on the spot including the number of days it would take. He answered all our questions patiently and thoroughly. We were so relieved when he said he could start the next day! We received the written estimate a few hours later and decided to go ahead with the work the next week. Donny said he was confident he would end up charging less than the estimate but would not be sure until they started working. In fact, the final invoice ended up being $1500 less! How often does that happen? The crew was on time, polite and professional. They were extremely careful not to damage anything and cleaned up better than any cleaning crew we have ever had! They made an unpleasant and stressful situation seem like a piece of cake. We are still talking about how easy and fast it went. Dealing with mold is a very emotional issue, but Donny and his team made it almost stress free. They also helped us coordinate the duct cleaning so it was done right. We can't say enough how happy we are with the results -- and the work comes with a guarantee that can be transferred to the new owners! If you have mold, you need Mastercat!!

"Deal cancelled and refunded.  No work done.  I am only submitting this to stop getting these unwanted prompts every time I signed on.  My real complaint is with Angies List - even after I asked them twice to remove this, it keeps popping up.  Hopefully it will stop now.

"I was very happy with Advance Cleaning’s work. I had water coming into my basement after a lot of heavy rainfall, so I knew I needed to deal with my gutters. Yanks was very responsive, scheduling was quick and easy, and he and his associate were on the job very fast! They worked nonstop on a very hot day and made sure all the downspouts were flowing freely before they finished. Everything works and looks really great after their work."

Buffing and Polishing questions, answered by experts

You can’t change the color of the stone, but you can update granite countertops without replacing them by painting them. Because granite is a porous material, you’ll want to seal them first before painting them so that the paint doesn’t hurt the surface. This is important because you don’t want to devalue your counters by damaging the original surface; even if you don’t like the color now, you or a new homeowner may want to remove the paint someday and return them to their original color. You can also cover them with

You generally cannot change the color of the natural stone, such as making granite countertops darker or lighter. Some people claim that certain chemicals will lighten or darken granite, but those will damage the stone and not provide uniform, expected results, so it’s better not to try. Similarly, some people ask whether they can stain over granite. Granite is beloved for its stain-resistant finish, so you probably won’t get the best outcome if you try to stain over granite to make it darker.

Instead, consider honing, painting, or applying another material over the top of the granite to make it appear darker.

Quartzite countertops are porous, meaning that liquids can seep into the stone and stain them. You’ll need to seal them before installing and resealing annually, depending on use and stone material. Sealing will help prevent stains and etching. On the other hand, you don’t need to seal quartz and other engineered stone countertops since they aren’t porous.

The frequency for sealing granite countertops depends on several factors, including the type of sealant used, the color of the granite, and how heavily the countertops are used. As a general guideline, resealing is often recommended every 12 to 18 months, but some sources suggest it could be as often as every few months or at least once a year.

The type of sealant is a major factor: water-based sealants may need reapplication every six months to a year, while more durable solvent-based sealants can last for five to 10 years. Additionally, factors like heavy kitchen traffic, frequent use of acidic cleaners, and lighter granite colors may require more frequent sealing to prevent staining.

To determine if your countertops need resealing, you can perform a simple water test. Place a few drops of water or a wet paper towel on an inconspicuous area of the granite. After 10 to 15 minutes, check the spot. If the water has beaded up, the seal is still intact. If the water has been absorbed and darkened the stone, it's time to apply a new coat of sealant. You can choose to seal the granite yourself or hire a professional to ensure it's done correctly.

Unfortunately, the product Bar Keepers Friend won’t remove etching from stone countertops. In fact, it can make it worse. Bar Keepers Friend contains oxalic acid, which can cause further damage to natural stones like marble or limestone.
