"Timber Creek did a fantastic job pouring my 60x40 shop pad and came in at a much more reasonable price than some of the bigger companies in the area. The quality was top notch and the team was great with communication and professionalism. I will have them back in the future for a pond project."

"S & S Painting & Restoration did a great job. Once we were scheduled They contacted us as to the start date & came out to pressure wash our roof, which they completed in one day.. when the weather was right, they came out to apply the primer & 2 top coats to our roof. They also completed it in one day. We have a large farmhouse with a 2 story metal roof with a few different pitches & levels of roof. They were very professional & meticulous in the spraying of the paint. I would recommend their services to anyone looking for a painting company. We have another couple of buildings that we will be scheduling for next spring. We are very satisfied with their work!"

Customers say: Quick response

"I actually only talked with him on the phone and have not yet decided if I will be pursuing this. He got back to me quite quickly. He recommended digging out the cement floor and re-pouring the entire thing... rather than just resurfacing it. Turns out resurfacing is more expensive than demolish and redo. I appreciated his candor and didn't want to waste his time with a visit... since I'm not sure yet what we will do. I abosultely received the information I needed to make an informed decision. Thank you!"

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

If your driveway is cracked, you can repave it with a process called asphalt overlay. Overlay is more cost-effective than a full replacement but is better suited for minor cracks and issues. If you have major cracks or other problems like water pooling, asphalt overlay isn’t your best bet. Plus, paving over a cracked driveway only extends the lifetime by about 10 years, whereas replacing it would start the clock over completely to give you up to 30 years.

An asphalt overlay or top coat costs between $3 and $7 per square foot. For a standard, single-car driveway that’s 10 feet wide and 20 feet long, that’s a total of between $600 and $1,400. For a two-car driveway, you’re looking at a total of between $1,200 and $3,000.

Driveway paving costs around $4,500 on average, but depending on many factors, you could pay anywhere from $2,500 to $6,600 or more. The size of your driveway will usually be the most significant factor, with more square footage increasing your costs. You can expect to pay between $2 and $15 per square foot for paving services. Some other factors that play a role include the following:

  • Quality of the materials

  • Contractor’s experience and expertise

  • Site preparation and grading, if necessary

  • Layout of your driveway

An ideal driveway gradient is between 2% and 5%. Anything lower than 1% or higher than 15% can cause problems for your car or property. A driveway with less than a 1% slope increases your likelihood of flooding and water damage, while a driveway with a 15% grade or higher can be too steep for safe traveling.

Instead of a set number of types, asphalt comes in variations designed for different needs. Some are categorized by temperature—hot mix, warm mix, and cold mix. Others are sorted by composition, like dense-graded, gap-graded (such as Stone Matrix Asphalt), porous, and mastic asphalt. There are also modified versions with added compounds like polymers, rubber, or emulsions. Instead of focusing on a number, it may be more useful to understand how contractors customize asphalt for durability, climate, and traffic conditions.
