"The patio turned out great, custom ramp due to an uneven step to the attached driveway. Wish the cleanup following the project could have been handled better, posts from the old deck and tarp were left sitting in the yard. The project also ended up being completed a few days later than what was stated in the contract. Overall, happy with the service and would recommend again."

"Timber Creek did a fantastic job pouring my 60x40 shop pad and came in at a much more reasonable price than some of the bigger companies in the area. The quality was top notch and the team was great with communication and professionalism. I will have them back in the future for a pond project."

Customers say: Quick response

"I actually only talked with him on the phone and have not yet decided if I will be pursuing this. He got back to me quite quickly. He recommended digging out the cement floor and re-pouring the entire thing... rather than just resurfacing it. Turns out resurfacing is more expensive than demolish and redo. I appreciated his candor and didn't want to waste his time with a visit... since I'm not sure yet what we will do. I abosultely received the information I needed to make an informed decision. Thank you!"

"I needed to put in a concrete barrier. Andrej came by and gave a very low estimate. I was initially concerned about the low bid. I was also concerned about the low scores from other reviewers on Angie's list. I noticed however that many of the reviewers had not actually used Andrej's services and were simply concerned by his low bid or maybe his accent. Who knows.
Needless to say, I had Andrej complete the work. He did a great job on the concrete. He came back after a couple of days to repair spots in the concrete that I did not notice and did not care if the spots were repaired. Andrej insisted on making the repairs.
I have used Andrej on second job already. He did a great job on the second concrete project too.

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

A driveway's lifespan varies by material. Asphalt driveways typically last 15 to 30 years, while concrete driveways last longer, between 20 and 50 years. The longevity of any driveway is affected by factors like extreme temperatures, heavy traffic, and the quality of maintenance. Regular upkeep, such as filling cracks, resealing the surface, and ensuring proper drainage, can help extend its life. For gravel driveways, regrading to fill in uneven areas every year or two is recommended.

New asphalt goes through two stages: drying and curing. Drying typically takes 24 to 72 hours, after which the surface is solid enough for light use like walking or careful driving. While you may be able to park on it after 72 hours, the surface is still soft and should be treated gently. Full curing is a much longer process, taking anywhere from 30 days to a full year for the asphalt to reach maximum strength. During this extended curing period, the asphalt is susceptible to damage from heavy vehicles, sharp objects, and high temperatures. Factors like weather, the specific asphalt mix, and application thickness all influence drying and curing times. For the most accurate timeline and to ensure the longevity of your new asphalt, it is always best to consult with your installation contractor for their specific recommendations.

You should not attempt to install your own driveway. Whether working with asphalt or pavement, this is a complicated project that requires special equipment. Talk to some nearby asphalt or paving professionals and discuss your particular needs—it’s a good idea to get a few quotes and look at the company’s past work.

Yes, you can retrofit an existing driveway, but this usually involves cutting grooves into the driveway, installing the heating elements, then sealing them. While this is much less expensive than typical heated driveway systems, the final appearance could be diminished. Speak with a driveway paving company to confirm which design method is best for you.

When hiring an asphalt paving contractor to install your driveway, ask as many questions up front as possible. Here are a few questions to ask a prospective driveway contractor:

  • How many years of experience do you have?

  • Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?

  • Do you have worker’s compensation?

  • Do you use subcontractors on your projects?

  • Do you clean up after the job is done?

  • Who is responsible for any damage to lawn or landscaping?

  • Do you provide a guarantee or warranty on your work?

  • Do you give free estimates?

  • What is the timeline for completion?

  • How do you handle change orders?

  • Can you provide at least three references?

  • Can I see some of the work you’ve done?
