"I've used Thermal Comfort a few times in the past to insulate entire homes, but this time I had a small job. Although this was a small job, they didn't treat it as one. From the start, I called Dason and he came to my property right away to look at the scope of work. I told him I'd like to get the work done ASAP. Although they were busy he squeezed me in, I was on his schedule within a week. The two techs, Randy and Walt were professional and got the job done in a timely manner. I will continue to use Thermal Comfort for my spray foam needs."

However, be aware that this method may not be as effective as a store-bought cover. Fabric like rags or old towels can absorb water, which could freeze and cause problems. While a DIY cover can work as a temporary stopgap, a proper outdoor faucet cover is inexpensive (often $5 or less), easy to install, and readily available, making it the recommended long-term solution.

An outdoor spigot needs some attention before the temperatures begin to drop. Using an insulative cover is just one part of minimizing a frozen spigot and pipes. You’ll also need to shut off the water and drain the spigot, which leaves as little water as possible in the pipes to prevent freezing.
