Fox Valley Stone and Brick Co., Inc. began back in 1967 on a family farm as a business with one product to sell - landscape stone. We have now grown into one of the largest suppliers of brick, stone and fireplaces in the state of Wisconsin, stocking over 200 different types of brick and representing six of the top manufacturers of fireplaces in the country. Fox Valley Stone and Brick started out by supplying landscape stone to a market that, up to that time, had no idea what landscape stone really was. By working hand-in-hand with local landscape contractors, we created a new market. This market leaned towards people who wanted the outside of their homes to be as distinctive as the inside. Demands for new products and services fueled Fox Valley Stone and Brick to add more variety of products. Today, Fox Valley Stone and Brick is like a supermarket of brick. Besides the different brick we stock, we have access to literally thousands of different colors, shapes and textures of brick. Pavers, retaining walls and outdoor lighting are available to help finish any commercial or residential project. In addition to brick, stone and landscape products, we sell the highest quality fireplaces on the market. We offer complete installation and service of any of our fireplaces, inserts and stoves. The installation crews and technicians are trained and totally professional. We also have employees that are NFI certified as Gas and Wood Specialists that can answer all your questions and concerns about gas and wood hearth products. In 2005 Fox Valley Stone and Brick remodeled and expanded our showroom. Now with approximately 12,000 square feet of showroom space - we show over 40 fully installed burning fireplaces on display. Fox Valley Stone and Brick is a member of the Valley Home Builders Association; Brown County Home Builders Association; Brick Industry Association; Hearth, Patio and Barbecue Association; and Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce. What makes Fox Valley Stone and Brick different from its competitors is quite obvious when you visit either of our locations. We are committed to quality and to customer satisfaction. First Impressions mean a lot. Come see for yourself and visit us today.

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

Temporarily capping a gas line—for renovations or during travel—doesn’t require a permit. If you plan to remove a gas line and cap it completely, you’ll need to apply and pay for one through your town or city. Depending on your region and its local codes, you may pay between $25 and $100. To avoid a gas leak or other hazards, some cities take the job of permanently adjusting or capping a gas line out of the hands of homeowners. Instead, they require hiring a professional gas plumber.

Plumbers start by walking around the property to see if they notice any signs or sounds of a gas leak. They can also use tools like electronic gas detectors and infrared cameras to find the source of leaks. There are also detectors that use laser, thermal, and multi-wavelength imaging. All these devices allow a plumber to scan your home and pinpoint the exact location of a leak.

Yes, you can store a propane tank, whether it is full or empty. Remember that the container is contaminated with hazardous materials once it has housed propane, but as long as it’s properly placed in a well-ventilated, temperature-controlled space, a tank is unlikely to cause issues whether it is full of propane or not.

Any gas pipe can leak, especially if it’s old or isn’t properly maintained. However, even with a shovel, plastic pipes are more easily damaged by impact. That’s why it’s so important to have gas lines marked by the utility company before you begin digging for any reason. Some metal pipes, like black pipes, galvanized steel, and copper, aren’t as easily damaged by impact but can degrade over the years, leading to leaks.

It costs anywhere from $125 to $2,000 to convert an electric stove to gas because it all depends on the current setup of your kitchen. For example, if you already have a gas line behind your stove, you could pay as little as $125 to have a plumber hook up your new range. Running a new gas line, however, costs between $260 and $820. If you don’t have gas service at all, you’ll spend around $2,000 to set it up.
