"Great. Joe Zimmerman of AAA Computers showed up on time, knew exactly what he was doing, and even supplied a power cord which was missing from the box the movers had packed the computers in. He went out of his way to make sure things were working correctly and gave me a tutorial on fixing issues by myself were additional problems to crop up."

"They did great, swapped out an outlet so that it would work with our new AC, handled everything over text and asked detailed questions, and was super patient with the fact that I had no idea what I was doing. They were able to come out the next day and the outlet works and looks great, they were in and out pretty quickly and were super professional the whole time. Would highly recommend these guys, and would definitely go with them in the future if we need more work done. Also was super kind to ask if vacuuming was ok, or if it would freak our cats out, and our super grumpy little cat even felt comfortable coming out while he was around, too. Great experience overall. Thanks!"

"We have American Home Shield warranty. We did have some plumbing and electrical work done. I have no idea who the service was because we did it through the home warranty. They have a $75 deductible for everything. American Home Shield has been great, definitely A across the board. The $75 deductible seemed great for cost and professionalism. They have a web site, Hub, where you can request service and everything, so A across the board for them. They are punctual and they cover the range of plumbing and - they cover a lot of issues with the home so I can always go to them if anything goes wrong, from plumbing to electrical to appliances. They've got me covered across the board."

Your breaker box houses the breakers that control the circuits in your home, shutting them off if they overload or experience similar problems. Your meter box houses your electrical meter that monitors the electricity flowing into your house and measures its use for your utility company.

In some cases, both components are in the same box, but they don’t have to be together. Many homes have them split, with the breaker box inside for easier access and the electric meter outside.

How far you can run underground electric depends on the wire gauge (generally AWG) and the circuit voltage. There are some smart thermostat models that do not require a C-wire, but this will limit the functionality of the smart technology.

Basic smart light switches are available for as little as $20. If you can install them yourself, it’s a home upgrade that won’t break the bank. Many homeowners view them as a worthwhile investment for the additional convenience and security they can offer.
