Kraus Snowplows and Equipment was founded in 1978 by Tom Kraus. The primary business at that time was selling Patz Equipment. We have installed and serviced farm equipment ever since that time. We have expanded our offerings to Agromatic, Berg and Kraiburg farm products as time progressed. In 1997, we purchased a snowplow business and provide full sales, service and parts for Boss, Hiniker, Kage, Meyer, Western & Saltdogg snowplows and salters. In 2000, we began pouring concrete as a concrete contractor. We pour flat-work and walls for all agricultural, commercial and residential customers. Since the business has expanded, we now employ 10 people and have built a new shop and storage area in 2009.

In business since 2000. We are a licensed general contractor specializing in small to mid-sized remodeling jobs. We offer full service contractor services to the person with a small job. Plumbing and electric work is sub-contracted using people we have experience working with focusing on best value in low price for best quality. We do not have employees but operate a small partnership under the LLC title. Payment for services are generally payment on satisfactory completion, however larger jobs do require a down payment to amount to at a minimum the amount estimated for materials. We accept major credit cards. Our winter prices are seasonally adjusted down to provide and incentive for people to have a lower cost if they choose to do the job in the cold weather.

"We met with the builder in May of 2017 and went over the build process and time line. We made clear we needed the project done before school started. Needless to say the project barely got started by the time school started. Which meant we would have to drive our kids to school and pick them up every day as we had to temporarily relocate outside the district while the house was being built. In fact I had to go to their office and hunt down the builder as he would not take my calls. When work would get done the quality was good and the workers were professional, but getting them to the job site at times was nearly impossible. I ended up having to general contract the general contractor. The build took so long in fact that all of my paperwork that I filled out for the loans was set to expire. I think the only reason we got in when we did was because the paperwork was set to expire. We were promised work would be done by a certain date, the date would come and go and the builder would disappear. After 7 months, we finally closed in December. During the winter we had some shingles get damaged due to wind, and again I was promised they would be out during a specific week, the time came and went....and you guessed it nothing happened. Now the builder is again ghosting us and the final grade, driveway, septic, and exterior concrete sits unfinished. Now the owner will say it’s not his project it actually belongs to another builder, but the sworn Construction statement is on Liberty Exteriors letter head and the presidents name is signed on the document. I would not recommend using them, if this is how they treat their customers."

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts

You can dry pour concrete over existing concrete, but it’s best to use wet pour concrete instead. Dry pour concrete is easier to apply, but in order for new concrete to adhere to old concrete, it needs the right mixture for slow, uniform curing. Additionally, dry pour concrete is less durable and less resistant to cracking and concrete sinking, so dry pouring over an existing slab may result in surface imperfections appearing prematurely.

Generally speaking, stain is a better option for concrete because it soaks into the surface and won’t get worn away like a topical paint will. Painting concrete increases the risk that moisture will get trapped beneath the top layer of paint, which wears concrete down over time. So long as you know how to prep concrete for staining, you'll maintain its strength after you finish your project.

The best plan for removing rust stains from concrete is to progressively move from weaker cleaners to heavy-duty acids. Move from dish soap to vinegar to oxalic acid to muriatic acid, stopping whenever the stain is sufficiently removed. This process ensures that only the safest possible methods are used, rather than jumping right into a powerful cleaner that may be effective but unsafe and unnecessary

Underlayment is the barrier between the concrete floor and the hardwood flooring. Adding this barrier is a vital step when installing hardwood over concrete, and it’s essential for protecting the wood from moisture coming from the concrete. Some adhesives are also manufactured to contain a moisture barrier that can protect hardwood from moisture, even if it’s glued directly to the concrete.

Yes. Amongst the four most common types of septic tanks—plastic, fiberglass, concrete, and steel—those made of concrete are the most expensive. This is the case for a few reasons, including the fact that they’re very heavy, so pros have to use specialized equipment to install them. However, they’re also incredibly durable, making the price worth it if it’s in your budget.
