About us

Plumbing and electric work is sub-contracted using people we have experience working with focusing on best value in low price for best quality. We do not have employees but operate a small partnership under the LLC title. Payment for services are generally payment on satisfactory completion, however larger jobs do require a down payment to amount to at a minimum the amount estimated for materials. We accept major credit cards. Our winter prices are seasonally adjusted down to provide and incentive for people to have a lower cost if they choose to do the job in the cold weather.

His work was good as he had to level the Door so it would close without allowing cold to blow through the jam

Overall, I was very pleased with the work done. I love the new doors (beautifully matched and installed), the living room paint job (neat and fast work), the shed (very sturdy), the storage room shelves (they're huge for suitcases and holiday decorations), and the outside metal door (I appreciate how you reinforced the door frame and made the door much more stable than the old one--nicely done).

Weren't real satisfied with the end result. Finishing wasn't real good, we had to do touch ups around the edges.
Response from Dan The Handyman
"We like your honest post. I hope that we could have received the info about needing touch up as we could have taken care of any concerns. As we would be happy to do. Thank you for your statement we will take this and make sure our veiw of the end results will be better"

We signed an agreement with a man named Brian who at the time was Dan's partner. The agreement was to have our carpet replaced using a moisture barrier pad, to have the exterior of our home painted and to have our driveway repaired. The carpet was to run $1,155, the paint $1,790 and the driveway $1,960. We paid for the carpet in full and paid $2,000 up front towards the other two jobs. This company was on Menards' contractor list so we made the poor assumption that they were reputable. Big mistake! The next day we get a call from Brian stating that he is no longer Dan's partner. He stated that he would do the work anyway and go to the bank on his own to make sure he got his payment. The next day the carpet was installed but he installed the cheapest pad rather than the moisture barrier pad agreed upon. This was a difference of $175 which Brian agreed to reimburse us for. It turns out Brian was taking more than his share out of the company bank account and essentially stealing from some of his customers. Dan had him put in jail. Dan then met with us and said he would make this right (which he is legally obligated to do since both checks were made out to his business). We told him we were no longer with the company and wanted a reimbursement of the $2,000 that had been paid for services not yet rendered and of the $175 for the carpet pad difference. He said that he couldn't reimburse us the funds because they had been withdrawn by Brian. After a long song and dance including him telling us he felt both morally and legally obligated to make this right, how he was a good church going man a long established contractor with a reputation to uphold, we agreed to have him paint the house. This helped him as he wouldn't be out a full $2,000 in reimbursement which was "apparently" taken from his account. When we made this agreement we made it very clear that we weren't paying anything extra for this job and that Brian had agreed to paint the house using 2 coats if necessary (we even paid extra for paint to ensure he could do 2 coats) and to sand the bottom of both garage doors as they were a bit beat up. Half way into the job, after the first coat was mostly applied (very thinly and quickly I might add) Dan comes back and says that if we want the 2nd coat we need to pay him an additional $850. I told him no, that wasn't our agreement. He refused to budge. I then told him, fine, pay me back the $210 difference in the contracted $1790 price and the $2000 we paid up front. He refused saying "well we already did 2 coats on the trim so I dont owe you any reimbursement." Dan is just as bad as his crooked partner. Even worse, he hides behind the front of being an honest Christian man. Don't get involved with this company or this individual. It will be the worst contracting experience you've ever had. What a mess!!!!!!!!!! We are filing a claim and will see Dan in court. We have also given statements to help keep Brian in jail and hopefully put him in prison for a long time as well.
Response from Dan The Handyman
"All thow the info on this is some correct I'd like to state that brian was not a partner but a person that was purchasing dan the handy man as dan was to retire. He was currently running things at that time to see if this would be good fit for the compony. After a short time we found out he was doing this stuff and emptied our bank accounts making dan the handy man in shambles. I shane have worked for dan the handyman for years and did not want that to happen so I have come. To start to take over and am running dan the handyman. I hope this new owner ship puts this at ease and look foward to show that this kind of work will never happon on my watch"
