"Very quick response to my initial request. Installed a ceiling fan in a new location within a week. While there, we asked them to add an outlet to a bathroom. No problem for Engelhart. Quality, timely work, and they cleaned up after!"

"They were extremely professional. They knew exactly what we were talking about when we said what we wanted and gave us a good price. They didn't come exactly when they said they would, but as soon as they realized they would be late because their prior job was harder than expected, they called ahead. We had plenty of time to reschedule our day. We had them install three fans, including new fan control switches, and all three fans are solidly in place with no glitches. Overall, this was a great experience and I'll probably head straight for them the next time I need electrical work done."

"We had incredible service and will hire them again when we finish our basement. Their staff are professional and kind. Their work is well done and thorough. I really enjoyed working with Igor and his staff. They did a variety of jobs for us including install of bathroom fan, ceiling fans, can lighting, garage lighting and outdoor outlets. "I first used Jeff to install a fan in my porch.  I called on a Tues and he was available on a Wed or Thurs evening.  He had me go to Home Depot and buy the fan then came and installed it. It took about an hour and did a good job.  I then had him install some garage shelving.  He wasn't available for about a month but came when we scheduled (at night).  It took about 3 hrs to intall about 5 custom shelves.  He went to Manards before he started and purchased the material and gave me the receipt.  He also installed a couple of ceiling racks for my bikes.  One shelf was not straight and he came back the next week and fixed it with no issues.

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

The direction your ceiling fan spins helps create comfortable airflow in your home and can also help cut down on energy costs.

During summer, your ceiling fan should spin counterclockwise. This will push cooler air downward in a column and help lower your room’s air temperature. In the winter, set your ceiling fan to spin clockwise and at the lowest speed setting. This will pull cool air upwards, displacing the warm air that pools towards the top of your ceiling and bringing it down towards the floor.

Most ceiling fans have a lifespan of anywhere from five to 15 years or 10 years on average. Just how long your ceiling fan lasts depends on the quality of the parts, how much it’s used, and how well you maintain it. A fan with a weak motor that runs on the medium setting nonstop is likely to have a shorter lifespan compared to a fan with a powerful motor that runs on the slowest setting for air circulation.

The number of blades for your fan poses both advantages and disadvantages. Typically, the more blades on a fan, the better the air distribution and cooling effect, but this also means that your fan will have more wear on its motor. For small rooms, three-blade fans should work fine. For larger areas like living rooms, four or five-blade fans might be the better option.

Ceiling fans offer multiple benefits for your home. They improve air circulation to prevent stagnant environments and provide cost-effective temperature control, which can reduce reliance on your HVAC system and help lower utility bills. In addition to their functional advantages, ceiling fans can also enhance a room's aesthetic appeal with features like built-in lighting and modern styling.

Though possible, installing a ceiling fan yourself requires electrical knowledge and confidence working with home wiring. Following the manufacturer's instructions carefully and observing safety precautions are crucial components of a DIY installation.
