"I am sure that these guys are able to do drywall work well. Especially where making a mess does not matter such as in new home construction. My experience on my popcorn ceiling removal project was not good. The guys did not know how to scrape a popcorn ceiling so I sent them a video. They also did not know how to paint. They made a very large mess and I had to clean up after them. Experience matters. In Spanish, because they didn’t speak English well. Estoy seguro de que estos tipos son capaces de hacer bien el trabajo de paneles de yeso. Especialmente cuando hacer un desastre no importa, como en la construcción de casas nuevas. Mi experiencia en mi proyecto de eliminación del techo de palomitas de maíz no fue buena. Los chicos no sabían cómo raspar un techo de palomitas de maíz, así que les envié un vídeo. "I hired them a few years ago for a plaster job and it went well so I hired them recently for a plaster and paint job. The 2nd project did not go well..especially for the painting. Overall, the surfaces look cheap- nothing like the first job. I’ve also had to re-paint and clean splatter for at least 20 separate areas. Unfortunately, there are countless areas with bubbles and drips that I cannot fix. :( They also left about 5/6 full gigantic garbage bags in the room. If you want quality work done, I wouldn’t hire. If you want speedy & shoddy work done, then they’re great. He quoted me under 5k when he came to look at it, and it ended up being over 6k plus paint."

You can drywall an unheated garage because the material handles cold temperatures perfectly well. There are no risks or downsides to installing drywall in a garage that is not heated, and the material stands up to moisture and other elements quite well. Drywall will protect your unheated garage's electric wires and cables and add fire protection. However, for effective bonding, you should install drywall at a temperature of 55 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.

Water-damaged drywall should almost always be replaced. Not only does it look bad, it’s a breeding ground for toxic mold. Even if you think the area is dry and there’s no active leak, the only way to be sure is to cut out the damaged area and see for yourself.

The two most common types of drywall are ½-inch and ⅝-inch thick white or gray drywall. Most walls are ⅝-inch thick because the drywall is slightly more resistant to damage and it helps dampen sound considerably. It’s also much heavier, which is why most ceilings are ½-inch thick. There are special use cases where you want to use ⅝-inch thick drywall for ceilings, such as between a garage and living space, and the ceiling above a finished basement.
