We had a very positive experience with Mad City. They did a complete makeover of our shower; completely gutting & rebuilding it from top to bottom. It turned out beautiful & has added value to our home. Job #451154

I really enjoyed how they asked questions to make sure it turned out how we wanted it. It made for a great experience. They also were very clean. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Could not have gone better. Work was done expertly, on time and for a very competitive and reasonable price. I dealt directly with the owner who kept me informed daily as to progress. In short, he came when he said he would, did what he said he would do and charged what he said he would charge. The work he did exceeded my expectations and my only wish is that could give him higher than 5 stars. I would hire this company again in a heartbeat. Thank you for everything

Jose did an outstanding job repairing my ceiling after a leak. His work is impeccable and he has a very high standard. He is responsive and shows up early for his appointments. On top of all of that, he is simply a kind human being. I will definitely be recommending him to others and will hire him again

High Quality Contracting Inc
5.0
Our project is at roughly the halfway point. We have had work done at the site every day. Progress is consistent. Dialog with the High Quality team is continual, productive and response time is very reasonable. This is important because supply chain issues do come up, and changes to plan necessarily happen as the project progresses. These have been well explained when they come up. Some decisions have to be quick ones, and we received good, practical guidance in making those quick decisions. All subcontractors have done quality work as well. The progress and quality of the entire project, down to regrading the front lawn, has been noticed not just by us, the homeowners, but by the neighborhood and inspectors. Thought has been given to how our neighbors as well us, the homeowners living at the site, would live through the project. There have been a few minor things to work through, but given the size of the project, they were minor and we feel right is being done by us. The dialog has been critical and has really led to the positive experience, to setting expectations. Positive communication was established during the planning of the project, which took place over the course of a year. It seemed like forever, waiting a year to start, but it has truly worked to our benefit. It has been worth the wait, and we wouldn't want anyone else doing this kind of work on our home. Nick has gone above and beyond on more than one occasion. His actions show that he is equally invested in the success and completion of our project

BIG DAVE'S SERVICES
5.0
Dave, along with Granite Plus was hired to renovate our kitchen counter. Dave's job was to cut down the counter from bar height to counter height. Expertise in carpentry, drywalling, painting, plumbing and electrical was necessary. Dave coordinated these specialties along with the Granite Plus folks such that the entire project was completed on schedule and without issues. While dust was a given during the project, Dave sealed off the kitchen in a floor to ceiling plastic room and utilized an air purifier to nearly eliminate the spread of dust. Each night his crew "Swiffered" the kitchen clean. Our old sink & plumbing was functional but for only one day! Then, promptly after Granite Plus installed the new quartz countertop, Dave's guys returned to install the new sink, etc. All was seamless! Dave and his crew did such an impressive job, I hired him thereafter to change out 2 ceiling fans, 3 ceiling lights and retrofit the kitchen cabinet drawers & doors with soft closure hardware. Upcoming, Dave has been hired again to perform additional plumbing and electrical work in our condo. You can depend on Dave

RNR
5.0
RNR was hired to take on an extensive project that involved remodeling three apartment units in two separate residential homes. They were quick to respond to provide a free quote, honest about their capabilities for the services needed, and provided a fair price in a timely manner. On top of being incredibly personable and easy to work with, they take pride in their work, always keep a clean workspace, and absolutely deliver on whatever is asked of them (which in this case the list kept growing). They completely transformed the three apartments that they remodeled - from installing cabinets, countertops, toilets, showers, doors, light fixtures, flooring, windows, interior/exterior painting - to fixing unstable decks and chimneys, they can do it all! You definitely won't regret giving them a call

B & K Contractors
5.0
We purchased a new home and needed upgrades/improvements to be completed rapidly as we were moving with our 6 month old little baby. Bahram and his team were very accommodating and understood the urgency to get the projects done for us. Within less than 3 weeks, our kitchen was transformed into the kitchen of our dreams, the plastic shower in our master bath was replaced with stunning tile work and every room was painted, with brand new contemporary lighting installed. We will definitely be working with B&K Contractors for any future remodels that may come up. The projects were completed so quickly with absolutely no lack in quality work! We have already referred them to multiple friends for their upcoming remodels

"Before I critique what didn't go well on the project, I'd first like to mention that the crew working at my house were kind, professional and did a great job of prep and clean up!
However, there were certainly some disappointments and shortcomings which I experienced that I'd caution other potential customers. The project appeared to take much longer than anticipated due to a number of revisits for rework. On the first day, the fast drying mud/plaster wasn't drying in a timely manner as expected. I was told that it was unusual and they would need to come back another day as turning up the heat and blasting fans wouldn't expedite the process enough to continue that day. By that evening, in every room, the product developed air bubbles that were quite large (pictures 1 & 2). I don't know if this was due to a poor mix or application, but it certainly added time to rework on day 2 of the project.
As day 2 of the project continued, I was sequestered to my office as there was work needed to be done in the hallway directly outside my door. By the time the crew notified me that I was able to come out, everything was completed including the tear down and clean up and the crew was out the door. There was no final walk through or discussion of the job. Sadly, as I inspected the work, I noticed that on one wall, the mud had been sprayed, but NOT knocked down to match the texture as had been done in all other areas (picture 3). If the crew or even the project manager assigned (who aside from showing up on day 1 during the prep time and then never seen again) had taken a few minutes to perform a final walk through, this may have been caught proactively. As it turned out, it required a third day of work to sand down and respray the mud to then knock it down. At the end of this effort, I was satisfied despite a bit of over spray that wasn't knocked down in certain areas as I knew once it was painted it would be decently disguised.
Where my experience with JB Custom really becomes disappointing is in my follow up interactions. I requested a second quote to perform more of the same work as as we discovered the need during the first project. This effort was probably 20% (or less) of the effort of the first job, but the estimate came in at MORE than double the first job. Needless to say, I was a little shell shocked by the price. When I inquired about the disparity in price, I was told that the first job was under quoted and they spent far too many hours on the first project. The estimator went on to say that the first project should have likely been quoted at the price of the new project. I then asked for clarification as if that was the case, why would the second job be the same price for a fifth of the work. While I would not expect to pay a fifth of the price due to overhead and standard prep activities, perhaps half? The only response the estimator was able to give was "At the end of the day we are a business and we need to make money, ya know?". At that point, I realized that there wasn't much value in attempting work with the estimator or continue the dialogue. In this scenario, it feels as I the customer is being punished for the additional time booked to the project which perhaps could have been avoided with improved craftsmanship and less or no rework along with more proactive project management.
The frustrating part of this scenario is that I acted in good faith and didn't complain about cracks in the knockdown texture that are literally a few inches from a big patch (~2.5ft x 4ft) that the crew addressed. I assumed that since we'd be doing business again in the near future, we'd catch it on the second go around. I also pointed these items out to the estimator for the second job and even inquired on the phone while discussing the second estimate, but never received an answer about that work that wasn't performed (pictures 4, 5, 6). Now I'm left to find a different company to perform the new work, but also address the items left by JB Custom.
