"In March 2019 my condo association contacted Masterwork Construction LLC in order to get bids for a few different projects around our property. Rob responded quickly to my Home Advisor request and we set up a time for him to come out and review our needs. At the time of the initial visit and throughout the project, Rob was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the problems we were trying to fix. In order to provide us with viable solutions to solve them, he went out of his way to contact different city and state offices to find creative solutions to propose. In April 2019, when time came to sign the contract, he was flexible and accommodating to our needs. Rob was pleasant to work with and he pushed himself to get the work done on time. After the work was complete, Rob has been in contact with us following up about the work he did and has offered to correct anything that may go awry in the future. Throughout the entire process we have been satisfied with the service that Rob and his company have provided for us."

"Emmanuel was the only landscaper out of 4 that I contacted that would do a small (850 sq ft) sod job. He and his crew arrived on time, were pleasant, hard-working, did an excellent job, and cleaned up nicely when finished. I am very pleased with their work."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

A driveway's lifespan varies by material. Asphalt driveways typically last 15 to 30 years, while concrete driveways last longer, between 20 and 50 years. The longevity of any driveway is affected by factors like extreme temperatures, heavy traffic, and the quality of maintenance. Regular upkeep, such as filling cracks, resealing the surface, and ensuring proper drainage, can help extend its life. For gravel driveways, regrading to fill in uneven areas every year or two is recommended.

Asphalt dries and cures best between 50 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. This range allows moisture to evaporate quickly without causing the asphalt to cool too fast, which can negatively affect the drying process. However, keep in mind that other weather conditions can also affect curing and drying times, such as precipitation and humidity.

Yes, using recycled asphalt millings is an eco-friendly alternative compared to concrete. Millings are reclaimed pieces of gravel that are recycled into aggregate that can be used on driveways, patios, walkways, basketball courts, tennis courts, and more.

In most cases, driveway repair is worth the investment. Your driveway is one of the first things people see when they look at your home, so repairing cracks, chips, and potholes can improve your home’s curb appeal and overall value. Repairing your driveway is also almost always more affordable than replacing it entirely—an average of $1,765 compared to the cost of replacing a driveway, which typically costs around $5,000.

An ideal driveway gradient is between 2% and 5%. Anything lower than 1% or higher than 15% can cause problems for your car or property. A driveway with less than a 1% slope increases your likelihood of flooding and water damage, while a driveway with a 15% grade or higher can be too steep for safe traveling.
