"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. After inspecting the roof for a few minutes it was clear that none of the decking the customer paid for to have replaced was actually replaced. It was still spongy and rotten under the new membrane. The biggest disadvantage of propane is that heating systems and appliances powered by propane tend to cost more than gas-powered ones. Propane is also dangerous since it can create frostbite if it touches the skin and can easily combust if mishandled. It’s also quite cumbersome to buy or replace propane tanks, so many people choose to have propane delivered to their homes—an extra cost and logistical challenge that can be a headache.

You may want to remove the gas line if it’s unsightly or if it’s causing a problem with future appliances. The downside is if you decide to go back to gas, you would need to run a new gas line to the area.  The average cost to run a new gas line is $550, but the installation can range anywhere from $120 to $1,350.

All U.S. states require permits for gas grill installation, so you’ll have to get one before you move forward with your project. Permits help ensure that the gas line runs safely to avoid gas leaks and explosions. Gas line permits can usually also only be pulled by certified plumbers, which means you’ll have to hire a professional from the start. The permit for a gas line installation for a gas grill usually costs between $100 and $300. You can contact your installation company or building department for more accurate pricing.

There isn’t a way to convert electric fireplaces easily or cheaply to gas. The process requires major renovations, as opposed to wood fireplaces, which are often already vented and have space for the gas-burning equipment. To convert an electric fireplace to gas, you’d need to remove your old fireplace and get a completely new install.

While you can install a gas dryer yourself, we recommend hiring a pro to help with any work involving gas (safety first!). Keep in mind that your gas dryer will have to meet specific codes and standards. While it will cost more money to work with a professional, it will be money well spent knowing that it’s hooked up correctly.
