"The roof area above our attached garage was leaking badly whenever it would rain or snow would melt. Because there was a wooden deck installed above the rubber roof, it was not possible to determine the source of the leak.  After several attempts at patching things, we started to contact contractors to find out what was needed to fix the problem.  
I called JJB after locating them on an Angie's List search.  We arranged for Jeff to stop by to look at the problems and provide an estimate.  He stopped by, right on schedule, and looked at the problems, took measurements, and explained solutions.  It became clear that the leak was being caused by the poorly installed rubber roof (under the wooden deck) as well as a failing second-floor stucco wall that abutted the roof of the garage.  Because of the cost, we were not able to have the work done at the time of the estimate (April/May).  When we were ready to have the work done, I had a few additional questions about the project and talked to Jeff.  He suggested some different materials for the wall and modified the original proposal with the new costs.  We approved the proposal and Jeff or Ann got back to us right away to let us know the timeline for the work to be done.  
The work started right on schedule and either Jeff, Ann, or the project manager, Joe, would check in with us to let us know how the work was proceeding and any issues.  Some extra work was required due to water damage and the improperly-installed roof materials.  When this came up, Joe explained exactly what would be needed, the charges, how they would be estimated, and all other details.  We approved the additional costs and all of the changes were well-documented so we never felt like we were in the dark about the revised costs.  When the additional work was complete, Joe let us know and the originally-proposed work continued.
All of the work was done carefully with close attention to detail.  We are very happy with how things turned out and, after a few rain storms, we have not had any further leaks.  We highly recommend JJB.

"After interviewing and soliciting bids from numerous waterproofers and plumbers, I turned to Angie's List and searched for a waterproofer with outstanding reviews.  I selected and called on Basement Waterproofing Solutions.  Brian Flanagan was at my house the very next day!  Right off the bat, I liked Brian.  He was personable and professional, but not too "professional".  The other companies I interviewed sent "professionals" that were all business and did not want to take the time to listen to what I had to say.  Brian was all ears.
I showed Brian all problematic areas and asked for his opinion on the best possible solution.  He had suggestions and cost effective solutions. The most surprising solution was for the kitchen/laundry drainage problem.  Both drained directly to a catch basin in my yard adjacent to the house.  During very heavy downpours, my catch basin would fill and water would back up into the laundry tub then cascade down to the floor, which in turn caused flooding.  All the other companies had very expensive solutions that involved tearing up my yard and installing waterproofing contraptions.  Brian gave it some thought and came up with the ideal solution.  The connection to the catch basin from inside the house would be cut and capped.  A hole would be created inside the house for a pit and a pump.  This allowed the kitchen sink, the laundry tub and the washing machine to dump into the new pit and the water would be ejected up and along the pvc pipes that were installed between the ceiling joists, and ultimately ending in the overhead sewer system.  The new pit would be vented through an existing stack.  Brilliant!  Problem solved.
The quality of the work, including new concrete floor where the drain tile was installed, is top-notch.  Cleanup was meticulous.  The crew was punctual and professional.  Most importantly, Brian was always reachable and eager to discuss the project.
Brian's performance and price exceeded my expectations.  That says alot because I am very particular about the contractors I work with as well as the quality of their work.  I have already referred Basement Waterproofing Solutions to a few of my friends."

"We contracted for them to paint our entire interior.  As they were working, they discovered that the joint above the fireplace had not been properly cornered when the condo was built back in 1975, and also that when the drywall was originally nailed in some areas instead of screwed in.  As a consequence of poor initial construction, the ceiling line above the fireplace was separating and the nails that were used in the drywall were starting to pop out.  They were so picky that they repaired the .ceiling joint above the fireplace so that it was not showing a big crack, and they dug out all the nails, replaced them with the proper drywall screws, and patched the wall. before they painted those areas.  We have cathedral ceilings, so your eye is always drawn upward. They did such a perfect job of cutting in! All the employees were a pleasure to work with, and not only did they do a great job on the painting, but they did a few other miscellaneous items as well, and cleaned up after themselves when they were finished.A little pricey, but a good experience overall.  I would highly recommend them.
