I initially had a poor interaction with Mike that did not result in solving the above plumbing problem above. However, he has since connected with me and resolved the issue fairly.  He did an excellent job the first time I hired him (successfully unclogging a tub drain). Even though the second time we hired him was not successful (and we had to hire a second plumber to resolve the problem) we will use him in the future because he reached out to resolve our concerns in a professional manner.

"Joe from JMS Drain Services was my service technician who arrived well within the window scheduled service time. Joe came in, inspected the sink to determine how to resolve my issue, took out the tool (snake apparatus) to clear the sink, and departed my premises within 15 minutes. The process typically involves shutting off the water supply, disconnecting the drain and plumbing pipes, cutting through the old silicone seal, and carefully lowering the sink from below. This requires a good understanding of plumbing and the right tools. If you are not confident in performing the replacement yourself, it is recommended to hire a countertop specialist or a plumber to handle the task.

Any drain in your house requires a water trap to prevent sewer gases from entering the home. Dishwashers don’t have an internal water trap, so they must use an external P trap. The most convenient P trap for the dishwasher is already in the plumbing under your sink.

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.

There are several types of sink drain stoppers, including pull-out, twist-and-pull, and pop-up. Pull-out sink stoppers can be removed by pulling on the stopper until it comes out of the drain. A twist-and-pull design requires lifting then turning the stopper to lock it in an open position and the opposite action (turning, then pressing down) to close it.
