"This was a HUGE project. This very big 1910 farm house needed to be scrapped and repainted, several areas of woodwork needed to be replaced and/or repaired. The scraping team of two people were fast and efficient and they also executed the painting. The owner and his father did the carpentry repairs and did a great job. While repairing several holes in the soffits they discovered that the 2nd floor roof hardly existed, the structure having rotted out over time for a lack of gutters on the 3rd floor roof. They will soon come and replace the roof decking and joists and ribbing. During the painting, I had them trim back the huge trees that were hovering over the house adding to the bad condition of the sides of the house. I can't recommend this fine company enough. Bob Sr. and his son, Bob Jr. run a great "We do it All" company."

"DJ and the guys basically gave us the house we'd wanted. Painted out what previous owner had done, different colors on every wall and ceiling, some very very dark and DJ and the crew covered it all. Friendly, professional, confidant and calming and kind to work with. DJs price was very friendly. We'd just moved in, they had to paint around our furniture and throughout they made it clear they were working to get the job done so we could finally move into our new home. "I've worked with many contractors over the years and JJB is the best I've worked with for residential remodeling. That's no small statement. JJB is responsive, communicative, on-time and on-schedule, does not cut corners, always willing to tackle new issues or problems that arise during construction, respectful of neighbors / other tenants, and very fairly priced for the quality of work that they provide. We even had some city permitting issues from prior construction that JJB was able to take on and get cleared up. I can't express how much headache this saved me! On top of being great contractors, Joe and Jeff and their team are also just great people - very personable, easy to communicate with, and a pleasure to be around. They really desire to make their customers happy and to do good work. You won't find any cheap shortcuts or shoddy work with this team. When the time comes for another construction job in the area, they will be my first call. I really can't give much of a higher recommendation than that!"

"Things started very slowly for us, because of constant rain in the beginning and then one or two of the guys were out sick or injured (not work related). But, once things got under way, everything went really well. First of all, our house is three stories tall and the garage is not attached, also the homes in this neighborhood are quite close to each other, so there wasn't a lot of space on the sides of the house for working. The stucco work made it so that you couldn't even see where the patching and repairs were. And, the painting is just beautiful. We needed some gutters replaced and they even cleaned out gutters which were not part of the job or contract. While the work was being done, there was stuff all over the yard, but at the end of each day it was all cleaned up and piled nicely. Bruce and his guys were very courteous and friendly. Whenever we brought up anything that we felt needed doing, they always took care of it. They never gave us some reason why it couldn't be done. As the work went along we discovered that a ceiling had fallen down in a sleeping porch that we just used for storage. It turned out that water was coming in from poor roofing that had been done years before. After first trying to calk it and finding out that didn't work, we had Bruce repair that section of the roof. So that was a completely separate job and the room is now dry and being brought back into working order. We were so happy with the exterior painting that we have now gone ahead to have some interior rooms redone (the walls torn out and replaced and painted.) The one bedroom that has been done is so beautiful that everyone now wants that to be their room. We went beyond what we had planned to do, so we are having to come to an end here, but we will definitely be getting Bruce back to do further work in the future."

"They were difficult to get in touch with, as it seemed many people bought the deal.  They finally contacted me via email and then I called once or twice to find out when they could come.  They did come on the date they said they would.  The guys put the bricks back together.  It was done okay, a little lopsided, but I know the deal was only for I believe 4 hours of work, so they did not have a lot of time.  It is fixed, not falling down and hopefully will last.

"I spoke with Chris and he came out the next day for an estimate. His estimate was by far the least expensive of the other 2 estimates I got and included all paint. Chris said he would start on Monday and finish on Thursday. He finished early - Wednesday afternoon. The paint looks amazing! Everything looks nice and even, the edges are nice and neat. The closets look great, too! He even needed to paint the ceilings in the closets. That must have been a task and a half. He really went above and beyond. While he was there, he noticed some nails sticking pokey-side out of my basement stairwell. Knowing I have kids, he took the nails out so the kids wouldn't get hurt. It's that kind of thoughtfulness and professionalism that would make me hire Newstar again and refer him to all my friends!"
