"Hands down five-star service! Jervs service did a phenomenal job fixing my plumbing issue. He was professional, prompt, and got the job done right the first time at a very fair price. If you need quality plumbing work done by someone you can trust, look no further than Jervs Service."

"MeinenHomes has handled several small and large scale home projects for me over the past few years. Small or large - their work, service, communication, pricing and personalities have been excellent. It’s not easy to employ and retain top notch people in this business but Jim has managed to hire only the best. I have made several great friends as they transformed my condo into something special. Thanks Jim. Will be calling on your help again, no doubt. Lauren Sheriff"

"Jake tackled a bunch of items to help us get our house ready to list for sale. He handles everything from electrical to carpentry and when I wasn’t sure on the best path he would jump into figuring it out. The tile work was a partial demo and re-tiling and he made sure every transition looked great. For example: The location of the pattern, finished edges with Schluter, grout color matches…he really puts a lot of thought into the details. He was a great communicator, timely, professional, and a positive presence in my home. Would definitely recommend 10/10."

"We were very pleased with the caulking and painting work Alex recently did for us. The caulking work was near perfect, and the thorough prep work before painting was notable. He went out of his way to guarantee our satisfaction with our painting project. We have no reservations recommending Alex and would hire him again."

Caulking Services questions, answered by experts

You can find a reliable handyperson by looking at professionals in your area and ruling out companies with poor reviews online. Next, check each handyperson on the Better Business Bureau to see if they have a history of complaints and rule out those that do. Finally, you can contact each handyperson to ask the following qualifying questions:

  • What is your hourly rate?

  • Are there any jobs you can’t tackle?

  • Are you fully insured?

  • How many years of experience do you have?

  • Do you have references I can contact?

In most states, handypeople do not need to be licensed to perform simple home repair tasks and smaller jobs. When projects exceed specific cost amounts, however, ranging from $500 in California to $50,000 in other states, some municipalities consider them to be contractors, meaning they need to be licensed. To learn if your handyperson should be licensed to work on your job, contact your local governing body or state contractors’ licensing board before starting any work.

Discuss design preferences and material choices before work begins for cohesive results.

Hiring a handyperson offers several benefits. They can save you time and hassle by completing tasks you may not have the time or experience to do yourself. A key advantage is ensuring the project is done correctly, which can prevent future issues and save money in the long run. For projects that pose safety risks, hiring an experienced professional is a much safer option. Additionally, handypeople are often more available for smaller jobs that larger contractors may not have the schedule for.

Almost all houses require soffits. The exception is in houses where you know without a shadow of a doubt there is adequate airflow throughout the entire house including, and most importantly, the attic. Almost all modern homes have soffits installed whether you notice them or not because on most homes, the roof eave extends beyond the walls of the home, naturally creating soffits.
