"Woody listened to our needs and provided everything we asked for. He was very professional. I appreciated his insight and he was very accommodating. I found his competition to be smug. That made this difference in our decision. I would recommend Woody every time. He mentioned during our walk-through that 9-10 people add to their lights. Well, I can say that is accurate because we plan to add to our lighting plan. Jimmy Hansen"

"Everything turned out fine. When it first arrived, it was damaged in the shipping. It took them quite a while to get something back to us, or even to call me back when I wrote to them. But then, once they got the ball rolling, it went very quickly. It took them probably about a month to even get back to me. The price was very good. Once somebody actually did speak with me, they were very responsive. They were pretty professional when I spoke to them. I just think that they were light on manpower."

"He just showed up without giving a phone call.  Prior to that, we need some bulbs replaced in the lighting apparatus and we asked him if he would teach us how to do it and he didn’t do it, instead he charged about $50 for a bulb replacement.  We feel he is on the higher side.  We thought he was expensive when it came to replacing bulbs.  His communication is a little haphazard, he would show up without calling, and then last year all of a sudden the box was changed so we must have gone when he did that.  He wasn’t always the best as far as communication went.  He didn’t do bad work, the two issues were the communication and we felt his prices were way on the high side.  We would probably use him again simply because he has done the work before."

"We are very please with the job done.
Horizon came to us on a recommendation from a friend in the Real Estate Business.
Even though we read a terrible F rated Angie's List review on Horizon we selected Horizon based on our friends advice because he had never led us astray before. We are glad we did.
Do you know how it is when you take your car to a mechanic to fix a certain and quot;thingand quot; that is happening and then can't recreate that and quot;thing.and quot; After the job was completed and Al, the electrician was taking us on an inspection tour, we turned on our second dehumidifyer on the other end of the basement only to have the circuit breaker pop---not the one just installed. After reset and turning off the dehumidifyer, the basement light brightned so we think we have finally hit and quot;paydirtand quot; in figuring out what is going on here. We were delighted that a certified electrician got to see this.
He explained that both of our dehumidifyers draw 7.5amps and the circuits are only 15amp so with a few light bulbs burning it can overload when the dehumidifyer kicks on. We will probably have him back to do another dedicated circuit, however, we will first check to see if we can purchase a dehumidifyer that does not pull so many amps. Maybe we are on to something here regarding lowering our electric bill and overfilling the landfill with old dehumidifyers (yes, I have a thing about that)

"had purchased this on a Deal. I moved my office to the in-law suite, and wanted something outside my norm - yet not too jarring. The decoraator is in Mass. We communicated via email, Pinterest., Houzz, their website and phone conference. I planned to reuse my light cherry office furniture, but needed to get rid of the white wall look. I sent photos of the room and a floor plan. I answered their online style questionaire and sent photo of the furnishing, my favorite Arts n Crafys desktop lamp and some of the art work I wanted to use. The result was a vibrant palate that is invigorating and joyful to work in. Using the colors from some paintings I collected in Africa15 years ago and my electric taste. the result was very bold. (Formerly my definition of bold was any color other than white or beige. The cair rail and lower walls are a terracotta with a rich deep gold on top. The remaining woodwork and doors are a dark slate gray with a satin finish. (Really - no white glossy woodwork.) I feel like I am in some exotic place when I work. I have met with other designers in the past. They ask your likes, then tell you what think regardless. Not so here, the process was interactive, two sided and balanced. The results are stunnung. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, even if no big deal is available.

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Local building codes typically require conduit around exterior wiring. Conduit protects the wire from moisture, extreme temperatures, sun exposure, and harsh weather conditions to prolong its lifespan. When a wire is worn out, it can be dangerous as the risk of electric shock or fire increases.

Yes, outdoor lights and receptacles should be on a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) for safety. The outdoors is considered a wet location where GFCI protection is generally required. A GFCI enhances safety by automatically tripping and shutting off the circuit if it detects an imbalance, which protects against electrocution and reduces the risk of an electrical fire. While it is the safest approach for all outdoor electrical components, specific requirements can vary depending on the type of light (e.g., pool lights), its location, and local electrical codes. For guidance tailored to your specific situation, it's best to consult a professional electrician.

Testing tools, such as Christmas light testers, non-contact proximity electrical testers, and multimeters, all simplify the process of testing Christmas lights. However, without one or more of those tools, testing Christmas lights the old-fashioned way only works sometimes. Without testing tools, the simplest testing method is visual inspection, which may or may not yield positive results.

The majority of potential burglars are amateurs looking to make a quick buck after breaking and entering. By installing motion-sensor lights, alarm systems, and security cameras, throughout the home, there’s a good chance you will deter crime on your property.

Yes, animals can trigger motion-sensor lights. In fact, this is a reason why some homeowners install motion-sensor lights, to catch sneaky little critters looking through the rubbish for a midnight snack. There are sensitivities to animal detection though, so you may want to look for an option that avoids animal detection as much as possible.
