"This company was subcontracted, and they have been terrible. Entire project was delayed because he didn't come out on more than 2 occasions when he said he would. Sent his son out to do the work. Instead of running the hot water line from the shower to the sink, he used the old track and secured the hot water pipe around the entire room, charging more money for the job with the extra pipe being ran. The hot water pipe was ran along an exterior wall. The pipe began freezing. We did heat wrap but ended up having to put a blow dryer in there. The cold water pipe did not freeze at all. The room temperature was roughly 60 degrees. The proximity of the hot water pipe to the wall caused it to freeze. Multiple calls, texts, and voicemails were completely ignored by Bob. Contractor wasn't exactly responsive either. It's now almost a year later and they still have not fixed anything. I keep getting told, when it gets cold. It's been in the 40s already and no fix... "

"Took them 4.5 hours to clean out the drain. I called someone local thinking it would be cheaper so I wouldn't have to pay so much in a trip charge. When I got the bill I screamed. They stated it took 4.5 hours to clean out my drain (rental unit, I wasn't there). Then they claimed their cable broke while cleaning it out so they had to come back the next day and charged me another 3.5 hours to remove their cabling. When I called to talk about why it took them so long as any other company I had come out it only took an hour. He tried telling me it's a motorized cable so it cleans as fast as the stuff is removed. I told him he should fire whoever he had using the equipment because they obviously didn't know how to use it. I told them if I had to pay the whole bill I would never use them again and I would write a bad review. Thus why I am writing this review. Wouldn't negotiate the bill at all. WILL NEVER USE AGAIN AND WOULDN"T RECOMMEND"

Bleach is generally not recommended for your shower drains. Although diluted bleach can technically help clean your drain, it will not unclog your pipes. In fact, bleach can harm your plumbing system because it’s so powerful. The bleach can change the color of your sink and even corrode metal pipes and fittings.

Often, people reach for bleach because it's already in their house. But it's worth getting a plunger or a drain snake for the job instead. It'll be a lot less money to buy a new plunger than to pay a plumber to repair or replace damaged pipes.

If you have a sink stopper, it can feel more challenging to clean the drain without removing it, but here are a few simple steps:

  • Pour ½ cup baking soda into the drain using a funnel

  • Pour 1 ½ cups vinegar into the drain

  • Close the sink stopper for 15–20 minutes

  • Open the drain

  • Pour 2 cups of boiling water down the drain (be cautious as boiling water can damage some types of pipes)

If the drain isn’t unclogged, repeat the process.

Yes, drains are one common entry point for water bugs. However, water bugs may enter your home through various locations including doors, windows, pipes, and vents. Water bugs are drawn to the dark and moist atmosphere drains provide, and can easily find their way into your home through sewer drain pipes. You can stop water bugs from entering through drains by regularly cleaning your drains and repairing faulty drainage systems.

Liquid drain cleaners are harsh chemicals that can erode your pipes. To treat a slow drain or for preventative maintenance, pour hot water down the drain to break up gunk and help move it along. Make sure the water isn’t boiling hot (keep it under 140 degrees Fahrenheit) if you have plastic pipes. However, you’ll need to pull the clog out for bigger backups. 

If you want to avoid using a snake to unclog a drain, or if you don’t have one, try vinegar and baking soda. Pour 1 cup of baking soda down the drain, followed by 1 cup of white vinegar. Wait for 15 minutes, and then run hot water (but not boiling water) down the drain to see if the clog is clear. Repeat multiple times as needed.
