"Utilizing All Service Moving for the move was a very positive experience. They had good communication, answering several questions prior to the move and did a final confirmation just prior to the move date. As for the physical move itself, Jose, Abraham, and Alberto were polite, diligent, and careful moving the many items, and managed to complete the move more quickly than anticipated."

"We moved from Hudson WI to Minnesota. We are all seniors and needed the help to move. Daymakers was on time, helpful, respectful and did a great job on the move! They wrapped our furniture, asked where we wanted the furniture placed in the rooms, took apart the beds and put them back together. We will definitely use them again and would refer everyone to use them."

"we moved into our new home from Minneapolis downtown to South Minneapolis. I was pregnant and my daughter decided to show up early at the exact date we were supposed to move. So my husband and I were unable to be present during the move and my friend had to help by being there. When we got home all the boxes were there, nothing was missing. The only complaint I have was the bed they were suppose to make was not made and the guy who tried putting it together broke one leg (maybe due to force applied)."

Moving questions, answered by experts

When loading a moving truck, the general rule is to load the heaviest and largest items first to create a stable base at the front of the truck, which helps balance the weight. You can start with large furniture like sofas, beds, mattresses, and tables to form a solid foundation, or begin by placing your heaviest boxes against the truck's walls to create a base layer. After the base is set, continue loading other large items like appliances and square furniture. Lighter and smaller objects, including most of your boxes, should be loaded last. They can be packed into gaps, around, and on top of the heavier items to maximize space. Following this order makes unloading easier and helps prevent damage to your belongings.

The best way to transport plants when moving is to prep them properly, cover the soil, pack them tightly in boxes, and take extra precautions depending on state plant regulations, weather, and distance. You should be sure to fill in the gaps around your plants to minimize movement during transit and plan to unpack them shortly after arriving at your destination.

Dismantling a bed frame makes moving it from one location to another easier. However, you might not need to completely disassemble it—especially if you’re moving it from one room of your home to another.

To pack mugs securely for a move, start by lining the bottom of a moving box with padded packing material like bubble wrap. Wrap each mug individually, tucking the ends of the bubble wrap inside the mug for a snug fit. For extra protection, consider using a moving box with built-in slots to keep the mugs separated.

When placing the mugs in the box, pack them tightly enough to prevent them from shifting, but not so tightly that they are under pressure. Fill any empty gaps between the mugs with additional packing material. To keep the box from becoming too heavy, it's best to pack no more than 10 mugs per box. Finally, be sure to label the box as “fragile” so movers know to handle it with care.

You can calculate the cost of moving by evaluating your home size, the weight of your belongings, distance, and the method of moving. You’ll also want to account for moving company fees, cost of supplies, gas prices, storage fees, insurance, and more. To get the most accurate estimate for your upcoming move, get price quotes from several moving companies in your area.
