The first steps after invasion in your home is identifying and removing the problem animal. Critter Control of Racine specializes in this and will develop a manageable plan of defense to prevent future wildlife problems. The highly trained technicians at Critter Control will find all the entry points wildlife could access and seal those up. We also re-mediate & clean up the mess the animals have made in your home. Our work is not complete until your home is critter-free!

"We had squirrels in our ceiling, and they were able to find where they were coming in/out within 5 minutes of the inspection. They took a ton of pictures and explained clearly the work that they could do to mitigate the problem and keep them away in the future. The work was completed within a few weeks, including the attic restoration which included removing the damaged insulation and replacing it with better insulation. They respected my home and did not leave a mess (and this was the middle of winter). All employees we worked with were very professional. They also had a 90 day same as cash financing option that we took advantage of."

"They made promises when they signed me up that they were not willing to honor. As a result, I paid way too much for what I got. Took several calls, never getting the same answer from any two people until they finally admitted that they would not honor their original commitment."

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

When woodpeckers start banging on your walls or roof, they are probably looking for insects to eat, storing nuts for winter, drilling a hole to make a nest, or communicating with other birds to establish territory or find a mate.

The size of the hole can help determine the reason for the pecking. Small irregular holes are a result of insect hunts. Acorn holes are more consistently sized and often fitted with a nut in the middle. Nest holes are large and have rounded edges. If the bird is pecking to mark its territory or attract a mate, it may leave dents rather than holes, and the noise will stop when the mating season starts in spring.

If a wild animal enters your yard, prioritize safety for yourself and the animal. Remember to avoid direct contact and always keep a safe distance. Contact local authorities or a wildlife rehabilitation center if the animal is hurt or in distress. Both sources should be able to guide you on how to proceed and send help if needed. Please wait for the animal to leave naturally for non-threatening situations, as many will. To deter future visits, implement measures like securing trash cans, sealing entry points, and removing potential food sources.

Pest control costs targeting birds and bats typically range from $250 to $800, depending on the severity of the infestation and the complexity of access to affected areas.

Legal considerations include adherence to local and federal wildlife protection laws, particularly for species that might be protected or endangered.

Signs include visible nests, droppings, frequent loud noises, or structural damage caused by these animals, indicating a need for pest control intervention.
