"They arrived at the appointed time with 2 technicians. They had all the appropriate equipment and cleaning solutions. The job was done in less than an hour (12 X 16 deck with stairs and spindles). The last time I tried to power wash my deck, I spent 4 hours and got only half done. I strongly recommend Sund Power Washing!"

"Jarrett called me within minutes of the posting. On the phone and via text he was pleasant and clear. We set the work date for.one week. He was on time for the work, was quick and thorough, took requests for a couple of spots to be retouched, and was honest about areas that needed other care (painting). We are grateful for his quick response and excellent work!!!"

"Outstanding job by this company! After reaching out to a number of companies, I finally found one who was truly interested in coming on site to give an estimate. Within 48 hours, Samantha, a co-owner, came on site, explained the process and committed to an estimate within the next day. The price was within range and the timeline as to when the work could be performed impressed me. The timeline was two weeks out but was moved up as this company utilizes time management to their advantage. Depending on the weather and what activity needs to be performed, they balance their workload between several clients at one time. Earlier this week, the pressure washing was completed all three deck levels and today, the board replacements, sanding, and restaining was completed. What also impressed me with this company is their overall professionalism. Would I hire them again? Absolutely!"

Pressure Washing questions, answered by experts

The average cost to pressure wash a house is around $310, with typical prices ranging from $200 to $420. However, the total cost can vary widely, from $200 to $750. Power washing, which uses heated water, may cost between $250 and $400 per project, with an average of $200 to $300 for a 2,000-square-foot home.

Key factors that influence the final price include:

  • The size and height of the house (a multi-level home costs more than a single-story one).

  • The complexity of the job and accessibility of certain areas.

  • Geographic location.

  • Equipment and hourly labor costs.

Hiring a professional is often recommended as they bring their own equipment and cleaning solutions. Experienced professionals know how to complete the job effectively without causing damage to your siding, gutters, or landscaping, which can be a risk with high-powered water jets.

You should never use bleach in a pressure washer. While bleach is effective at killing mold and mildew, it is a potent chemical that can corrode the machine's seals and nozzles, destroying it from the inside out. Additionally, pressure washing with bleach sprays the chemical into the air, which is dangerous if inhaled and can kill nearby plants, flowers, or harm animals that ingest it. If you need to remove mold or mildew, it is best to hire a professional who will use a safe and effective cleaning agent.

This process doesn’t necessarily require soap or detergent, but it definitely helps. You can get by with just using water, but remember, brick requires a lower-than-average pressure level when compared to concrete, so forgoing detergent increases the time it takes to spot clean stains and debris once you finish with the pressure washer. Brick is especially porous, so the less water you use on it, the better.

No, you should not use a pressure washer or power washer on roof shingles, including asphalt shingles. The high water pressure is too strong and can damage the shingles by loosening their adhesive, forcing water underneath them, or causing them to fall off. The safer and better option is soft washing with a pump sprayer. For best results and to avoid damage, consider hiring a local roof cleaner to clean your shingles safely.

You don't technically need to seal your driveway after pressure washing, but doing so will help keep your driveway clean for longer. The best driveway sealer depends on the type of driveway you have. To seal asphalt, consider an asphalt emulsion sealer, fast-drying sealer, or latex acrylic sealer. Concrete driveways commonly use acrylic sealers or penetrating sealers.
