"Fast and quick response to setup a time for looking at a dead ash tree I needed removed from the front of my house. Ray and crew came the very next day on a Saturday morning. They removed the dead ash tree, grind the stump and put dirt and grass seed down. Also took care of my leaves in front yard , which was a nice surprise and greatly appreciated. Rays price is very reasonable and has the best customer service. Loved how ray lets you know how the project is going. Ray also cut a piece of the tree for a keepsake. Very nice way to make a centerpiece for the table or you could paint it. It’s nice to still have a piece of my favorite tree. My yard looks better. Definitely recommend and definitely letting the word out about how amazing his crew is. Thank You!!!!"

You should avoid cutting off the top of mature cherry trees. This process is called tree topping, and it’s not recommended for cherry trees—or any trees, for that matter. Tree topping removes between one-third to half of the length of the tree trunk, resulting in structurally unsound, fruitless suckers. The only exception is for saplings. Rock salt or Epsom salt can damage and kill tree roots over several weeks and can even assist in removing the tree's stump. However, you need to drill holes or cut into the stump and surface tree roots to inject them properly with the salt. Repeat the process every two weeks until the roots visibly rot away.

Generally, you’ll want to prune back the trunk by 1 to 2 feet each year to promote bushy growth. Doing so concentrates vegetative buds closer to the bottom of the tree, where you can easily harvest fruit. For side shoots that are a year old, leave at least six leaves. 

Never remove more than 30% of a tree’s foliage during pruning—even if your tree is really overgrown. Removing this much foliage at a time could kill your tree.
