Customers say: True professional

"We hired Herrera's Drywall team to eliminate the popcorn ceiling in our house. Hector was very communicative before the project started and during the project execution phase. The quality of the drywall finish was top notch. He went above and beyond what was being asked to make sure the project was done right. His pricing is fair. The project was completed ahead of schedule. Couldn't be happier!"

"Juan and his team were fantastic. My ceiling drywall was stained with moisture and the insulation above it was garbage. They were super respectful of the space and very diligent controlling the dust and mess that a job like this would cause. Juan was also really helpful with providing tips to help it dry faster. Their quote was the most detailed out of any of the quotes I received for this project, which made it easy to select them. Would definitely recommend these folks to other seeking drywall repair."

"I had an excellent experience with this drywall company from start to finish. They were professional, punctual, and did outstanding work. The quality of the drywall installation and finishing was flawless ? smooth seams, clean edges, and great attention to detail. They kept the work area clean, communicated clearly throughout the process, and completed everything on time. It?s hard to find contractors who take this much pride in their work. I highly recommend them and would absolutely use them again!"

Customers say: Quick response

"We have hired Acustom Drywall on two occasions. Both instances have been fantastic. His work is outstanding! This time he fixed a problem with our ceiling. We can't even find where the hole was, and the paint job on the rest of our walls is just as impressive. Even better than the work is the person that is doing that work. Christopher is honest and fair. He explains everything and follows through with what he said he could do, never over promises but always delivers in full. He is the only person we will hire for any future drywall work we need to have done."

"Highly recommend this drywall contractor! They transformed our old, damaged walls into beautifully smooth surfaces. During the project, they discovered and repaired a hidden leak, then sealed our basement to prevent future moisture issues. Their workmanship, attention to detail, and professionalism were outstanding. They went above and beyond, and we couldn't be happier with the results!"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

If you want to reduce sound transmission throughout your home, soundproofing drywall is a better choice than standard drywall. However, simply installing soundproofing drywall may not completely block out noise. You’ll get the best results from incorporating it into a larger soundproofing plan that includes proper insulation and framing studs.

If your home’s foundation shifts slightly over time, any seams in the drywall represent the weakest point in the wall, leading to cracks. If your home has significant changes in temperature and humidity, this can cause the drywall to swell and contract slightly, causing a crack at the weak point of the seam. If your drywall installer did a poor job securing the panels to the wall studs, this could cause a weak layout and cracks in the seams.

A jigsaw is commonly used to cut holes in drywall. It offers versatility and precision, making it suitable for creating circular or irregular openings. When equipped with the right blade, a jigsaw can swiftly and cleanly cut through drywall, making it a good choice for DIY projects.

It is more difficult to drywall a ceiling than it is to drywall a wall, but not so hard that DIYers can’t tackle it. One of the main issues with hanging drywall on your ceiling is getting it into place. Drywall isn’t light so, if you are hanging full drywall panels, you will need at least two (it’s better with more) people to hold the panel while you drill it into the ceiling as a single piece can weigh between 40 and 60 pounds and will need to be held in place for up to 10 minutes.

Fixing ceiling nail pops involves similar steps to wall repair, with the major difference being the orientation of the work. Ceiling nail pops can be more challenging because you may need to work overhead, which can be physically demanding and require additional safety precautions. Additionally, the ceiling may have different materials or finishes, such as textured surfaces, which can affect the repair process. Otherwise, the fundamental steps are the same.
