"I can't say enough about the integrity and honesty that Polar Heating and Air Conditioning displayed. I had another company in town tell me that my system needed to be replaced. I decided to get a second opinion and called these guys. Jason said my system didn't need to be totally replaced and that it was a simple/inexpensive fix. He could have told me I needed to replace my system but he was honest and cared about being upfront and making sure I wasn't taken advantage of. This company has earned my business for life!"

Here at Pringles Power Vac we employ the most effective way to clean air ducts and ventilation systems by using Source Removal Methods of cleaning. We use our state of the art truck mounted vacuum to place the system under negative pressure, While the powerful vacuum draws air through the system, agitation devices are inserted into the ducts to dislodge any debris that might be stuck to interior surfaces. The debris then travels down the ducts to the vacuum, which removes it from the system and the home. With each duct cleaning we also clean the furnace, heating coils, evaporator coil, condensate drain pan, fan and fan housing.

"Terrific experience! Scott and AJ arrived promptly as scheduled. Both were very professional and courteous. After a brief site survey and discussion, they quickly and efficiently went to work. Also expertly explained any questions I had. The amount of debris they removed from my HVAC system was astounding, and I've noticed an immediate difference in my central AC performance and lack of dust in the air! After the job, they put everything back together and thoroughly cleaned up. I'm extremely satisfied by the service, and especially with techs Scott and AJ. Great job!"

Air Duct Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Mold in HVAC ducts is a relatively common issue that homeowners struggle with—especially in humid climates or homes with poor ventilation. Moisture from condensation, combined with dust and organic debris, creates the perfect environment for mold growth. Homes with high humidity, leaky ducts, or clogged drains are more prone to this issue. Regular inspections and proper HVAC maintenance significantly reduce the risk of mold developing in your ducts.

Musty smells often indicate the presence of mold, which can lead to various health risks. Inhalation of mold spores may trigger allergic reactions, causing sneezing, a runny or stuffy nose, and itchy or watery eyes. People who suffer from mold allergies or asthma may experience more severe respiratory problems. Certain types of mold, like black mold, can lead to mycotoxicosis, a condition associated with serious health effects like respiratory problems, fatigue, headaches, and skin irritation if exposure continues for an extended period. Those with weakened immune systems, respiratory problems, or allergies may be more vulnerable to the health risks that come with musty smells. Therefore, it is crucial to address and eliminate the source of the odor promptly.

A dehumidifier can reduce condensation on your ductwork by lowering humidity levels in the air. Condensation occurs when humid, warm air makes contact with cold ducts. A dehumidifier can help maintain your home's indoor humidity below or around 50%, minimizing moisture buildup. However, if condensation is caused by leaks, cracks, or other damage, a dehumidifier won’t solve the problem.

When you insulate ductwork, you help protect the air moving through the system from external conditions and keep it sealed within the ducts. This makes your HVAC system more efficient since it doesn’t have to work as hard to heat or cool your home. Insulation can help lower your energy bills and prevent problems like condensation and mold formation inside your ducts.

The best way to clean fine dust particles after construction is by combining dusting with vacuuming. Start up high by dusting ceiling fans, walls, window sills, countertops, and other surfaces throughout your house. Once the dust has settled, go over all of your floors with a high-powered vacuum, giving a little extra attention to the carpeting. Make a second pass with your vacuum, and then mop all hard surfaces to get any remaining dust. Don’t forget to vacuum your HVAC returns and supply vents and swap out the filters while you’re there.
