"Josh was quick to respond to my inquiry for a floor install. His quote for the work was reasonable and fair,. I especially liked the fact that he was able to start almost immediately. Once hired, he and his helper were prompt with their arrival, precise in their work, and kept me informed of his progress. I recommend Roman Built to anyone interested in having flooring installed. You will not be disappointed. This company does an excellent job."

"I have three dogs and two young children who made my carpet full of stains that my at home floor cleaner wouldn t take out. I called Paul and he made my carpets look brand new. I thought I was going to have to buy new carpet because they were so terrible but he saved me hundreds of dollars. He charged me a fair price and even offered to come check the carpet afterwards to make sure it looked great. I told him to not worry about coming back out because the first time did the trick! Thank you Paul! Would highly recommend!"

Floor Cleaning and Waxing questions, answered by experts

Both buffing and polishing increase the longevity of your floors by removing scratches and buildup, but they are different processes. Polishing removes the top layer of your floor, removing surface-level scuffs and scratches. Buffing your floor involves filling the scratches and scuffs with a buffing solution. No matter which method you choose, you can rest assured that both techniques will leave your floor looking shiny and new.

You can regularly clean your Marmoleum® flooring by sweeping, vacuuming, and damp mopping with a neutral cleaner. Avoid using highly abrasive materials or high-pH cleaners to prevent cracking, warping, or discoloration, and never wet mop, as heavy water exposure can damage the floors. Marmoleum® floors have a topcoat called TopShield preinstalled, so you do not need to polish them.

To maintain tile and grout, clean the surfaces regularly with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and wipe up spills promptly to prevent buildup. It is also important to reseal the grout every 1-2 years to maintain its durability.

Yes, you can polish an existing concrete floor—as long as the slab is structurally sound and in good shape. In fact, that’s what makes this type of flooring upgrade so appealing. Polishing works best on bare concrete with minimal surface damage, although you can usually repair cracks and stains before the grinding and buffing begins. Instead of ripping out your existing concrete floor, polishing it can turn it into a high-shine showpiece that’s both practical and sleek.

Most DIY floor cleaners don’t require rinsing, but you’ll want to make sure you don’t add too much dish soap or oil to the cleaner to avoid having to rinse it after cleaning. For non-wood floors, mix 8 parts warm water, 1 part vinegar, and 1 part baking soda with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, use olive oil in that same mixture instead of the vinegar. You can let these solutions air-dry after cleaning your floors with them, although you should manually dry your floors if they aren’t waterproof.
