"This was a big project, with patio, walkways and retaining walls. Their work was flawless, timely and artful. Everything from estimate to scheduling was professional and all estimate adjustments were clear and fair. Cliff and Jonathan checked in every day, and I cannot overstate how much we appreciated that. Five stars all the way."

"Sta-Built Construction can do it all! We wanted to make our back yard more livable with a solid foundation for a hot tub and gazebo. We were hoping to make better use of wasted space below our dining room window where nothing but weeds grew well. Brian was the estimator who sketched out a design that not only created a lovely outdoor space, but also incorporated the existing foundation wall into a new retaining wall. The plan also included a paver patio, seat wall, fire pit, and lights. The crew was friendly, polite and hardworking, even in the midst of a record breaking heat wave. They demolished the old concrete patio, built a landing from the existing steps, and moved sprinkler lines. They paid attention to details, taking frequent measurements to ensure accuracy of the construction. Ben was the project manager, checking often on the crewâ s progress and occasionally offering a helping hand where needed. He was very approachable and quick to respond to our questions. Sta-Built is a professionally run company with creative minds and skilled workers. We were kept apprised of the scheduling date through the Sta-Built App, which we found helpful for tracking the project stages and making payments. The bid for the amount of the work done was competitive with other companies. We trusted Sta-Built to do the job right, and they came through with flying colors. We love our new outdoor space and wouldnâ t hesitate to hire them again for a future project."

"NGL Pavingstone & Retaining Wall is a fantastic company. We decided to put a patio under our deck and also put a retaining wall to protect a window opening. NGL was very responsive in providing a quote, came on sight and showed that they really wanted to work with the customer. They truly believe in their work and will not leave until you are satisfied with it. The implementation went very well and the finish product was amazing. We highly recommend them and will hire them again when necessary. Cheers"

"Originally we were going to get a patio made in an area that was away from our original patio. We were convinced that extending the patio out would make better use of our money. This did not disappoint. They were able to do it before the scheduled time and did it in a timely and efficient manner. I thought it would take more time, but it was done within the week. I am very happy with the service and how friendly they were."

Small jobs welcome

"They were fast, efficient and very professional. I would recommend and rehire them for any future projects I have. John and Nicole were a pleasure to discuss project and gave great advice. We are very pleased with the end product. They added on to my existing patio, created steps and a ramp down to another patio they poured and a walkway connecting my front patio to my back patio. I have had several compliments on the work they did. Thank you John and family!!"

Patios questions, answered by experts

The average cost to enclose a patio to create a sunroom is around $5,000, and prices generally range from $3,000 up to $10,000. The price you pay will depend on the state of your patio and whether it needs repairs or additional structural support, the quality of the materials you choose, the size of your patio, and whether you plan to run utilities into and finish the sunroom. The price for a fully finished patio enclosure could run up to around $20,000, while you might pay just $2,500 for a screened-in porch.

A Florida room doesn’t have insulation, nor is the space heated, so in most cases, the room won’t be comfortable enough to use during the winter months. A four-season room, which is like a Florida room that’s insulated, heated, and cooled, is a better option if you’re looking to enjoy your sunroom all year long.

Whether a prefab sunroom is worth it will depend on each homeowner’s unique needs and preferences. Overall, prefab sunrooms are a wallet-friendly, speedy, and reliable option for individuals looking to get some vitamin D in a simply-designed yet sunny space. Not to mention, sunrooms can increase your home’s value and the enjoyment you feel at home.

If you want to hire a professional to build a screened-in porch, a local sunroom or porch contractor is your best bet. If you can't find a local sunroom builder, another option is to consider hiring a general contractor to perform the work.

If you're handy, you may consider building the porch yourself. Before you do so, make sure you understand the local permit requirements and building codes so that you don't have any problems with the safety or structure of the porch.

A screened-in porch can add value to your home, with a potential return on investment (ROI) of 70% to 84%. The actual value added depends heavily on several factors. Climate is a major consideration; homes in warm, humid, or buggy areas (like the Southern regions) see the highest ROI. In colder climates, the value is diminished as the unconditioned space is unusable for much of the year. Other factors that influence the return include the quality of materials and construction, the size of the porch, and the local real estate market. While a screened-in porch can enhance curb appeal and attract potential buyers, it is not included in the home's total square footage for appraisal purposes.
