Small jobs welcome

"I worked with Andrew to replace a 9 x 9 cedar gazebo roof. He had to redesign it to match the house as the original was just cedar tongue and groove that leaked and rotted. He did excellent quality work, was here when he said he would be here, got the job done on time and for the bid price even though it ran a little over his estimated time. I highly recommend them!"

"Ampro put water barriers under the roof edge and the channels for the peaks of the roof, then heightened the edging so water would flow properly to the down spouts. Again we were pleased with their attention to detail and meeting our specific needs, making suggestions as we progressed through the project.

"The hope chest belonged to my mother and was finished in a very dark stain so the wood grain and color was unrecognizable. Ken stripped the chest and refinished it in a clear finish so that the walnut wood showed off its beauty and workmanship. We were amazed at the transformation and now proudly display this chest as a finished piece of furniture. The entire project was completed in less than two weeks to our surprise. Thanks to Memory Menders for their workmanship and great customer relations."

"I hired this company to remove moss from the roof of the house, and to treat the roof with mold inhibitors. Their workmanship was top notch, and they made sure that the debris was carefully cleaned up before they left. I would recommend this company to anyone needing this service."

Gazebos questions, answered by experts

Several types of porches are available to meet your needs and style preferences. Some common porch types include:

  • Porticos are essentially a roof over a walkway leading to the home's front entrance.

  • Sunrooms are closed-in porches that are an extension of the house with glass or plastic panels that allow optimal sunlight.

  • Wraparound porches extend around the entire home, or at least the front and one side, and offer multiple entrances to the house.

  • Back porches are an extension of the home’s floor into the outdoors. These offer more protection and privacy than a deck.

Clean regularly, seal wood surfaces, and inspect for damage or rust to ensure longevity and safety.

To make the gazebo accessible, you can build a wheelchair pathway leading up to it. The path should be paved with a smooth surface for wheelchairs to roll through. A low curb should be placed along each side to ensure the wheelchair stays on the path. At the end of the path, build a wheelchair ramp connecting the gazebo.

The average cost to build or install a gazebo is around $5,700, with prices typically ranging from $3,000 to $10,000. The final cost depends on several factors, including the gazebo's size, shape, material, and design complexity. For example, square gazebos and those made from metal can be more expensive, while brick is a more affordable material. Adding custom features like built-in seating or lighting will also increase the price. You can potentially save money by purchasing a prefabricated kit or performing some of the labor yourself.

Common materials include wood, vinyl, and metal. Wood offers a classic look, while vinyl and metal are low-maintenance options.
