"For the past couple years Isidro and the team have been taking care of yard, not just mowing but also clearing out and spraying blackberry bushes, removing and reshaping bushes and trees, landscaping the edges, etc. My yard looks wonderful!"

"Salvador and his crew did an amazing job. We have 4 large oak trees that produce more leaves than we can handle and have just accumulated into a large pile over the last few years. In no time, they had the massive pile of leaves loaded into a truck and proceeded to edge, mow, weed, and trim up some bushes. The work they were able to complete in less than 5 hours would have taken us several days. He and his crew even hauled away an extra pile of junk that needed to be taken to the dump. They did an amazing job and I would not hesitate to hire them again in the future."

"Martin was the first pro to respond to me and make himself available. His crew was on time and worked hard the entire day. Each of them was very polite to deal with. The cleanup of our lot was amazing after they spent the day trimming and removing very old, dirty arborvitae. I wouldn't hesitate to contact Green Landscaping again for any of my maintenance or landscape projects."

Customers say: True professional

"Mike is very nice, professional and hard working. My home has an edible landscape in raised beds with bark chips and hardscaping covering any areas where there are no beds. Mike regularly clears weeds and engages in trimming and pruning to keep my fairly large residential property looking nice. He has also removed a few fruit trees that I formerly planted too close to a pergola. When he semi-dwarf fruit trees, be removes them clear to the ground and then digs out any remaining stumps and large tap roots so that the empty ground can have the existing soil improved so that the ground can have additional plantings later is so desired. Mike speaks broken English, but is very edept at using the Translate app on his phone so that we can have full and complete conversations together. I very much enjoy having mike and sometimes his wife coming to my home to engaging in landscaping projects and give them my highest recommendation without reservation. Mike has been working for me for about 3 years. I believe that he is honest and trustworthy and he cleans up after he is done so that the worksite looks much better than it did before he started. "The crew of New Green Landscaping removed old sod, rototilled hard packed old soil, removed rocks that were uncovered instead of just punching them back down into the soil, leveled out the ground, added new layer of rich 3 way soil and laid down new sod. They adjusted all sprinkler heads and replaced several, set the timers to run twice a day. Then cleaned up the sidewalks and street. From start to finish, the job was completed in 2 days, I am so very happy with the results. I recommend New Green wholeheartedly."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

You can sell a house with lead paint, but there are several requirements. If you are aware that lead paint exists anywhere in the home, you must disclose that to potential buyers. Required home inspections will often uncover lead paint, especially for older houses where lead paint may still be a problem. If you have taken steps to encapsulate lead, you should provide buyers with full documentation of the project so it won’t cause any problems later on.

Professional lead-paint abatement companies use a variety of methods to remove lead-based paint, depending on each particular situation. Some of the most common methods include:

  • Total removal: $8–$17 per square foot

  • Demolition and replacement: $1,000–$15,000 per project

  • Encapsulation: $4 per square foot

  • Enclosure: $10 per square foot

  • Chemical stripping: $10–$17 per square foot

You do not have to remove lead paint if the surface is not chipping or peeling or if there are no pregnant people or children under the age of six who live in or regularly visit your home. Lead paint is a particular risk for young children whose brains and bodies are not fully developed. Experts strongly recommend that you call a pro to remove lead paint if it’s peeling or flaking, no matter who lives in the home. You can experience lead poisoning by breathing in or ingesting just a small amount of it.

Lead toxicity comes from inhaling lead or consuming it. Before the 1980s, when the government banned lead from consumer use, it could be found in paint, plumbing, pipes, ceramics, and even gasoline. Lead paint is toxic for the same reason lead itself is toxic, which is why lead poisoning from paint presents the same as lead poisoning from water or food sources, with a slight increase in respiratory symptoms vs. digestive symptoms. Lead paint is most dangerous when it’s old and peeling, cracking, or otherwise disturbed. This increases the concentration in the air and, therefore, in breathable air.

Disposing of old paint, bleach, oil, and fertilizer should be handled by a company that specializes in this kind of waste. Many private junk removal companies do not dispose of these items. Because these materials are hazardous to the environment and dangerous to handle or dispose of improperly, you should confirm with your local municipality about places to take hazardous materials for safe disposal.
