"This company is spectacular!! Blake and his workers not only did a fantastic job on my deck, but Blake found a way to replace all the decking with pressure treated wood and still come in at a price that I could afford. They are professional, skilled, efficient, kind, courteous, , and charming! I've never been happier with a contractor than I am with Blake!!! They did the job better than I ever could've imagined and they did it very quickly. They were on time and they did everything they could do to make me happy. I am ecstatic!!! I highly recommend this company!! I love these guys!!! They built me a deck that was better than the original and it'll last for a long, long time. I have only positive comments about what they did and how they did it!! I almost hope that something else needs to be done around my house so I can hire them again!! 😁🤣😍 They are a great company and they'll do a great job for you at a reasonable price and in a timely fashion. I'm a very very very happy customer"

"Hired THT to clean my Mother's roof and the roof of a small shed on the property. He arrived when they said he would, worked diligently and did a great job on the roofs as well as the cleanup. Second time I've used this company, pleased both times."

"I bought the Angie's List coupon for eight hours of yard clean up which amounted to two guys for four hours.  They really did a beautiful job, cleaning up the leaves, mowing, removing branches from a storm, sweeping deck, trimming shrubs, edging lawn, etc. They were fast and efficient, the yard looks great.

"Initial contract was to paint our (old) basement walls.  They did a really good
job at that (on time, on price, quality work), so we then asked them to
paint the entire exterior of our house.  Our exterior surface was in bad
shape and needed extensive preparatory work - which they did.
They have just finished the exterior painting and again they were on time, on
price, high quality work.   In addition, the painting crew was excellent: pleasant
(it was very hot and humid during the period they were working), hard working,
responsible and,  most importantly,
they seemed very interested in doing a job that we would be satisfied with.
Which they did - and we are.  Lots of contact and feedback with the CEO of
the company, and we felt that we had jointly navigated a very complex operation.
We would recommend them to friends and neighbors.

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

PVC decking can get slippery when wet because it’s made from plastic. However, composite and wood decking can also be slippery when wet. It’s best to wear shoes with grippy soles when walking on a wet deck, no matter the material, and to be extra cautious not to slip and fall down.

In many areas, a floating deck that isn’t connected to your home and stays under 200 square feet and below 30 inches in height may not need a permit. These freestanding structures are often considered low-risk, which can simplify the building process. However, building codes vary greatly based on location. Before investing in any home improvement project, check with your local permitting office for deck-building guidelines.

Yes, and in some cases, frozen ground may improve the digging process for footings due to sturdier conditions. It’s easier than working in muddy conditions, which are more common in the spring. Contractors may use machinery that makes this step a breeze, so harder ground shouldn’t affect the building process.

In most cases, your deck will need some form of deck footing to hold it in place, preventing moisture from rotting your wood and decreasing your deck’s lifespan. Concrete deck blocks are the most common type of footing for floating decks. Some homeowners use ground-level deck footings. For added security, consider digging and laying your ground-level footings below ground.

Because adding a deck will yield a higher property value, you may have higher insurance costs. It’s important to follow the codes and regulations set by your local and state governments, so your insurance rates can be properly calculated. You may need an insurance revaluation after your deck is completed. The best course of action is to speak with an insurance professional to understand how adding a deck will impact your home’s insurance costs before you begin.
