New Heating and AC Company. We also do general handyman type projects like residential repairs including HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry projects. I've been in the building trades for 15 years. I'm very motivated to grow my company based on value of services I provide and pride of craftsmanship that I learned from my Grandpa at a very young age. We have a towing and hauling service as well. We are also mobile welding and fabrication.

"Tim was very professional. He arrived on time, with tools in hand, ready to work. He listened to what I envisioned for each project, and then took the time to explain the work it would entail in detail, and also why it needed to be done that way. Tim completed the jobs in a timely manner and charged an extremely reasonable price; I could tell he took great pride in his workmanship. What impressed me the most was the extra effort Tim put into protecting the areas around each project from damage, and the cleanliness of his work area. He left those areas cleaner than how he found them. I give his wife major props for teaching him the importance of "knowing your customer.""

"Opportunity Construction will always be my #1 company to go to for my fencing needs. Here's the reason why. First, from start to finish, Dean Currow was very knowledgeable about installation of fencing. He displayed great customer service, professionalism, attention to details, and was so easy to work with. He was prompt; arriving on time each day. Second, his team of workers were exceptional! They were the best; working hard...non stop, until the last steel panel was in place. Opportunity Construction made my dream come true. They are an A++++ company. Last, I couldn't be happier with the installation. The fence looks beautiful, and from all of the drive-bys, I am sure this company will be receiving a few more calls."

Welding questions, answered by experts

Beams made out of traditional lumber can often only span 8 to 12 feet without requiring vertical supports, so if you want a wider opening to create a more open floor plan, you might need an LVL beam. LVL beams can span up to around 30 feet without the need for load-bearing walls or vertical supports underneath, making them a better option for keeping your home as open and airy as possible.

Professional metal fabricators usually charge around $70 per hour. Three of the largest cost factors are the size and complexity of the project and the price of materials. The type of metal can impact the cost as much as the intricacy of the metal fabrication you want done. Another cost factor is your geographic location, as labor and materials can vary widely depending on the cost of living where you live.

The difference between a lintel and a beam is what loads each is responsible for supporting. A lintel is a type of beam that is responsible only for supporting the load above an opening, such as a window or door, and transfers the weight to the side walls around an opening. A beam supports the slab and transfers the load to nearby columns, which then disperse the load to the ground.

Lally columns are named after their founder, John Lally, who owned a construction company in the 1800s. He invented the columns as a means of providing temporary support for beams and rafters in homes his company was renovating. The original Lally columns were also made of steel, although the inventory used a thicker gauge metal, which provided additional support for larger projects and long-term structural solutions.

Steel I-beams are an increasingly popular choice for supporting a structure because they support a large amount of weight with a small profile and without the need for load-bearing walls or supports underneath. This allows for more open floor plans, which most people tend to prefer. They also resist fire, pests, and rot and last for the lifetime of your home.
