"Saved me the whole trip and cost with a clarifying phone call. Learned that the problem was the outlet was a half hot. Would 100% dial them again for any other issues, based on their desire to keep the homeowners costs in mind for when services are purely needed. For sure 5 stars."

"I couldn't have hoped for a better experience. The scheduling was professional and prompt, the service was spot on and high quality. They arrive in a nice truck with lots of supplies, and do a quick estimate, then get right into it. I had a list of jobs saved up, which included installing new bathroom fixtures and new outlets. Everything was done just right and the area left clean and everything tested out to my satisfaction. No surprise in the bill and I felt it was a fair price. "On 4/24/26 Orbit Electric (Nick and Brandon) came to my house on Vashon Island, WA, to install a ChargePoint Flex level 2 EV charger in my carport. They did a great job. They came with all the materials and equipment needed for the job. Setting up the PVC conduit was especially tricky, and in accomplishing this part of the job, they were very professional and creative. It was clear to me that they know the electrical code well. After they left the jobsite, I used the charger, and it works well. The next time I need the help of licensed electricians, I will definitely call Orbit first."

Small jobs welcome

"I contacted a big electrical company to check out my basement, which has knob and tube wiring. I was not happy with the quote that they gave me, so I went back to look for other electricians. I happened upon Doctor Sparky's in Angi, and they were able to check out my house immediately. Nathan gave me a quote a little after him and his team left our house, and it was a way better and competitive price than what I was quoted by the big company. Not only were his prices reasonable, Nathan was very communicative, respectful, and transparent throughout the entire process. Unfortunately, there were other parts of the house that had knob and tube wiring, but thankfully Nathan found it since he double checked the entire house after he finished the basement. Thank you so much, Nathan! You've made our house a safer home. We will hire him and his team again for any future electrical needs."

"Mark, with Lakeview electric, was extremely professional from start to finish. He arrived on time, moved the electrical wiring efficiently, and installed an outside outlet with great care. His rates were very reasonable, and I was very happy with the service overall. I will definitely hire him in the future for any electrical work. Highly recommended."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Grounding is an essential part of installing an electric fence. Without grounding, the electrical circuit will be incomplete. That means the fence won’t work and will fail at delivering shocks upon impact. Even grounding the fence improperly can cause faulty shocks, if any. To ground the fence, you will need to use ground rods, ideally made from copper or galvanized metal, that are at least 4 feet high, for best results.

It prevents electrical surges, protects your home from things like electrical fires, and prevents you from getting shocked if an errant surge runs through your power line. Without grounded wires, your appliances could also get damaged during lightning storms.

Yes, you can run an above-ground electrical conduit and stay within National Electrical Code safety guidelines. Just make sure you check the code requirements of your project with the local building regulations office. You should work with a local electrician to complete this type of project due to the personal safety hazards.

Watts and volts represent distinct aspects of a light bulb’s functionality. Volts measure the electrical force that drives the current through the bulb, determining its compatibility with the power source. Watts, on the other hand, quantify the bulb’s power consumption and indicate its brightness level. Higher watts generally mean a brighter bulb.

240V is the standard for more demanding appliances in the United States, whereas 220V is more common elsewhere. The voltage isn’t very different in any practical sense. The United States is a newer country compared to many other regions in the world with a faster adoption of new electrical needs. Appliances in the United States are often bigger than other parts of the world.
