"No high pressure sales. I was able to take my time picking the floor I wanted. Unlike one of the other in home flooring companies. While it may not always be ideal, you can fix a squeaky floorboard without removing the carpet. Removing laminate flooring is fairly straightforward compared to removing other types of flooring. The planks click and lock into place, so you can pry them loose without much fuss. If you plan to reuse your flooring, you must be careful not to damage the plank or the locking mechanism that keeps it in place. If it’s in good condition, you can reuse it in another room.

Start the first row of vinyl planks along the longest or most visible wall in the room. This will create a clean, straight foundation row to build off of. Snap a chalk line to guide the first row, and use spacers for the most precise installation—these maintain an even extension gap between the flooring planks and the wall. Finally, double-check that the first row is level before moving on to the second row. If it’s not, start over and get it right before completing the rest of the floor.

Carpeting lasts between 10 and 15 years in most cases, but keep an eye out for common signs that it's time to replace it. Persistent smells despite deep cleaning, faded color, worn-down carpet padding, and general wear and tear are signs that it's time to tear it up. If you are experiencing allergy issues indoors, this could also be a sign that new flooring is the key to a fresher home.
