We are a small company with 25+ years of experience. We accept cash, check and money order, and should be able to take debit and credit cards soon.

"These guys can't seem to identify or resolve intermittent problems related to the work they completed on a new construction house. It's been about 1.5 months of going back and forth with promises of coming out to investigate further or provide insight. The only official visit ended in the owner telling me that the haunted house like flickering of the lights is normal and can't be fixed, and that electric code (AFCI / Arc fault) is what's preventing our microwave from functioning properly. I'd recommend staying away from them at this point."

"We contacted South Sound Electric because of their proximity to our home in downtown Bremerton. We were looking for an electrical outlet installation, HDMI cable installation and Coax cable relocation. We were scheduled by the office to complete the job (not an estimate) at a 9 AM to 11 AM appointment on Wednesday, 3/28/2018 for two technicians; however, one technician showed up at 3:30 PM to check the job. He had many excuses about how busy they were and had some "emergencies" to take care of. He looked at our job and arbitrarily used a screwdriver to scrape the paint from a small access entrance to our fireplace where the power was to be installed. We were shocked by his carelessness. He left and we rescheduled the work with Jackie (scheduler at the office) for Monday, between 8 AM and 10 AM. During the reschedule, we commented on the carelessness that was used in the first visit. As it turns out on Monday, they were a no-show. At 10.03 AM we called the office and found that they decided that they were not willing to come out to our unit to do the work. We were never called. Our two issues are: Poor scheduling of appointments and carelessness of treating our unit during the visit. We will never use or recommend this contractor to anyone. After discussion with others in our condo, we found out that others had similar issues with this contractor."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

If you find the power cables for your appliances are too short, there are ways to extend them for the cost of just the extra wiring you need. Simply cut and strip your wires, solder them together, and cover them using heat shrink tubing. Not everyone has a soldering tool on hand, so if you’re looking to extend in a pinch, an extension cord, power bar, or surge protector can do the job just fine.

A GFCI outlet is easy to identify. It features two buttons on the face that read “TEST” and “RESET.” Sometimes, the “RESET” button is red. These are positioned in the center of the two three-prong plug-in slots you see on a regular outlet. Some also feature a green light to indicate when the outlet is working, changing to red when there is a problem.

They’ll use more electricity than the average upright vacuum, but not remarkably more. Most power units plug into a standard 120-volt outlet and don’t have significant power demands. You shouldn’t notice an increase in electricity bills. If you have any specific questions about energy costs, ask your installer as you examine purchase decisions. Larger power units will need more electricity for their suction levels.
